Im interested in knowing of any Barfers are prepared for whatever Earthquake, end of civilization, Obama being reelected? have you stored guns ammo food etc? no one needs to get too specific and give away secrets. ive been thinking of stashing away some items for self and family protection as well as food ive already out away. im prepped for short duration interuptions like possible earthquake unlikely in my area or upheavel of our law enforcment and political systems or shortages in our food supply. has anyone else given this any thought? ive kind of relied on canned food which stores pretty nicely without an major hasssel and also stocked up on some cases of MRES and also can my own food etc. ive stashed first aid kits, water and water filtration equipment warm clothes in case there was a winter utility interuption etc. stored lots of fire wood and ignition materials etc. just curious if anyone else takes the possibility seriously that we could undergo food shortages or be forced to endure some sort of long term disruption of services.

wrong thread. barf militia is two doors down.

I taught myself how to get seeds from the plants I grow for food.

I think 'prepping' is about 100 steps beyond simply being prepared for a disaster. That said i'm more of a prepper, but not like like bunker level prepping :laughing

oh, being prepared. i was thinking this was going to be related to fluffers/fluffing. :dunno

carry on

i watched those 'doomsday prepper' shows and thought i'd rather have the earth open up and swallow me whole rather than to live with those people...

i'd think we'd end up shooting each other not for the supplies but just outta annoyance...

:facepalm

1st rule of prepper club is......

:laughing

Have you seen the tv show on preppers ? it gives some pretty good advice and insight :thumbup

Sadly, my pool is 16K gallons of salt water... So I can use it to flush the toilet and for washing, but not much else.

I heard saltwater pools are the way to go. If I ever get a home with a pool that's the route I'm taking.

Prepper? Nope, but I do think it's a good idea to at least have enough supplies to get you by for a month should the shit get real. I probably have enough canned food and dry goods to get me by for 30 days and enough firearms and ammo to get me by longer than that, so in a way I'm prepared but not by planning, just by chance.

why can't you just place your blind faith in the system like everyone else does, sheesh.

"preppers" lol

everyone knows safeway & target & home depot will always be fully stocked with affordable food and supplies.

the rock-solid banks (hey, they were stress-tested!) will always be open for biz, flush with reliable paper cash so teh ppl can buy stuff.

afterall, this is america. crazy stuff can only happen in those other countries.

I plan on moving to Oregon to get a direct connection to the facebook data center.

I'm amassing a huge inventory of toilet paper, and betting that it will be the currency in a post apocalypse world :banana

I'm one of those folks. It is just a prudent thing to do to be more bprepared than not.

However, no need to guns and ammo for me; instead, I pack throwing axes. never have to worry about running out of ammo.

As for food, I have a lot of potato chips in the pantry. I also have bottles of water at the ready in the garage.

I've already got the closest 4 supermarkets mapped out in my area on papaer maps and have a stash of cash ready. This way, it GPS and credti cards don't work I can still get there to stock up on stuff. Also made sure that my house isn't on or next to a major fault line.

I'm completely ready for the next big one. or whatever life can thorw at me

:rofl You must cary a hell of a lot of throwing axes then! I think it's easier to cary high cap magazines than a backpack full of throwing axes. :laughing
