Any preppers here?

Everyone is CA should be a "prepper", just because of the real likelihood of earthquakes. And then there are the wild fires.....bug out bags are a necessity.

:rofl You must cary a hell of a lot of throwing axes then! I think it's easier to cary high cap magazines than a backpack full of throwing axes. :laughing

Typical gun folk mentality. What happens after you've emptied your 11 rnd mag + 1 in the chamber? Your gun it now a paper weight. I just need to retrieve my axes and rethrow them.

So you can keep the attackers about 30 feet at bay while I can keep them 300 yards at bay and I don't have to run downrange to retrieve my projectiles. :laughing

Quit your trolling, man. It's getting really fucking old.

Yes, but let's talk about the hard decisions of being a preppy:

-Mountain House, Backpacker's Pantry, or AlpineAire freeze-dried food?

-If you answered "Mountain House" to the above, how does one avoid eating all the Beef Stroganoff with Noodles when one gets the munchies?

-Never mind about the above question. Too late. :|

Also, here's a handy protip: did you know that you can purify water by passing it through someone else's kidneys?

Also, is pemmican actually made from food co-op floor sweepings formed into a brick shape?

A better and cheaper way to store food is to use sealed plastic 5 gallon buckets. Rice and beans and other dry goods will last years if you do it right. One of the ways is to put some dry ice on the top of the food in the bucket to displace the oxygen with CO2 as the dry ice evaporates, put the lid on it and store it.

Of course none of that matters if you don't have a way to protect what you have. Having firearms isn't enough because those trying to take your shit will also have firearms and you will likely be outnumbered at some point. You need to form alliances with others because humans can better survive together than alone. These so called preppers will be easy pickings for the mobs should it all go down.

Taking a page from sun tzu's art of war: best would be to poison your food while building up immunity now.

I am a fan of Wise Grab-n-Go (25 year shelf life), but you run into the same stroganoff questions... The Grab-n-Go meals can be rehydrated with hot water poured into the mylar bag. So no need to use a pan/pot. Makes them great for camping/hunting trips as well.

This is just so wrong on so many levels. How can pro-gun come out with such a silly ad. Everybody knows that it is guns that make an otherwise good person go bad !

then i must be, indeed, quite damed

:wave

I've got a case of MRE's that I took home back in 2006 when I got back from Iraq. I'm sure those fuckers are still good. :laughing

Big out bags will be useless because even if the roads are passable you'll bE on them with the other 6 million people. Tent, water, food, and a camp stove to wait things out while staying put.
