I'm primarily concerned with earthquakes. I've got a bug-out bag with a first aid kit, water, food, and clothes. It's right by the door so I can grab it in the middle of the night as I sprint outside in my skivvies. :cool

:wtf

quakes...heard there was a 7.something out there today with couple of 5.somethings in california...:dunno

You guys are reminding me there's a couple more things I need in my earthquake bug-out bag:

Radio
Spare set of house keys
Toothbrush/toothpaste/floss
dust masks
disposable cell phone
solar cell-phone charger

The first aid kit has an emergency blanket, but I'm concerned about having to sleep on the ground, so I'm considering a small fleece blanket or some other ground insulation.

Basically, I want to be able to survive a week on my own after a quake. I figure if help doesn't arrive in SF in less than a week, then things are good and truly fucked. :nchantr

wow...lotta quakes today..!!

Man I love preppers. They clearly have an advanced sense of humor. I can't f'ing wait to be surrounded by people who think that wrapping all of their shit in paracord is going to make them live longer!:party

I pack throwing axes. never have to worry about running out of ammo.

I've already got the closest 4 supermarkets mapped out in my area on papaer maps and have a stash of cash ready. This way, it GPS and credti cards don't work I can still get there to stock up on stuff. Also made sure that my house isn't on or next to a major fault line.

I'm completely ready for the next big one. or whatever life can thorw at me

Sasha Baron Cohen, is that you?.:rofl

Yep, survival lesson #8: learn to suck a good...

It's going to be awesome: a land of survivor-comedians, marauding with axes and fleecie blankies (on a titanium tactical 'biner, of course).

Seriously though, guys, have you wrapped your bug out toothbrush handle yet? I want to do mine in delta-ranger green cord, and spray the head part with krylon urban-multi-camo spray. What do you think?

Dude, get a clue because you apparently lack one. I live in San Francisco. On several occasions in the last 5 years I have been woken up in the middle of the night with the fucking house shaking.

I don't wrap shit in paracord, but I do have a backpack next to my front door that I can grab as I run out of the house, so I don't have to spend a extra second inside a shaking building wondering what I should grab on my way out.

I hope to never have to do this. But only a ignorant fucking moron would look at the history of SF earthquakes and think, "it'll never happen." :rolleyes

everyone talks about keeping a bug out bag.

wtf are you gonna go? "Oh hey lets just take hwy 80 and head up to... oh shit look at all this traffic."
