That indeed is a heavy duty list.. and no doubt you are one tough hombre Brant. I really hope that time flies past and all heals quickly. Barf would be happy to help spread the word on your fundraising effort so if your bud's that are doing the website deal hit the contact button and email me I will do my part in garnering some support.

Watching you race for a few years and just a week earlier at the WSB races I have much respect for your skills and determination as a racer. That will grow I am sure as you recoup.

I have a cadaver part in my knee and it is still going after 12 years... so I think that this can be done and finding the right Doc comes to you fast.

Best wishes to a full and fast recovery.

I remember watching a TV show, they were doing a piece on WSMC racing. Brant Wiwi was featured with a freshly broken and mangled hand, still going out and racing trying to keep in the chase. Yeah, that cat is a RACER through and through. Hope you are feeling all right enough there buddy! :thumbup

That's what most forum jockeys come up with. You realize it's stuck at your braking marker which usually leaves very, very little time and grabbing the clutch is not going to do much for you (just saw that someone posted my video so let me add - as you can see from the video. That was clutch pulled in AND the front brake jammed on for as much track as I had left.)

Joe, I hope you never experience it and for anyone running a Yoyodyne quick turn throttle you may want to think again

Heal up Joy & Brant

I am running a Yoyodyne quick turn throttle and just experienced the throttle sticking WFO going over T1 at Laguna Seca last week. A tiny screw, about the size of a grain of rice, had backed out and wedged between the housing and the throttle cam. It is now secured with loctite and a little dab of RTV to dam the hole just in case...

I can honestly say that had it not been from reading the threads on BARF, hearing of others experiencing moments like this and then thinking to myself "what should I do if this ever happens" I would have not known what to do and probably enjoyed a nice flight to a local trauma center. As it turned out I actually remembered to engage the clutch, hit the kill switch and ride it out. I also had the benefit of having the most run-off room at Laguna to take the right steps and prevent a crash. Had that happened going into T6 or into the corkscrew I would have crashed for sure. Definitely a scary moment.

At a certain point this throttle sticking issue becomes a design defect. Do the manufacturer's installation instructions require RTV and/or loctite?

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but it's the lawyer in me...

Damn Brant, I never thought I would see someone with a longer list than mine from Infineon a few years ago and live to tell the story, hope you heal as well as possible and have relief from the pain as much as you can. It's been 3 years for me and I'm still on tons of medication and will be for the rest of my life.

To be homest a few tears dropped from my eyes when I read your report in this post because it really hit close to home for me.

I wish you nothing but luck in your recovery and search for great doctors.

I've had 3 fractured vertebrae, a couple of hemoraged disc, and a steel rod holding my lower leg together. While it's nowhere near the laundry list you have I can tell you that I've made a full recovery aside from the timid throttle hand.

Heal up strong, Brant!

Oh yea...FYI - airport travel will be a mother f***er from now on at the security scanners.

I don't recall if the instructions had recommended it or if it came with instructions at all.

Talk to Zoran. They upgrade the national alert to orange every time he takes a plane.
That is not due to my plates, screws and wire, that stuff does not trigger alarm.
I think it is looks :teeth
