Consider the maintenance work or fixes that YOU need to do to the bike, and factor that into the price. It is ok to pay more for a bike that has had all of the maintenance work done to it recently, or pay less and get a bike that needs some work, but you must know this in advance and be ok with it.
    • Inspecting the bike: if you are not experienced yourself, have a mechanic or an experienced friend check the bike before making a purchase. Crashed bikes:This is even more important if you are buying a bike that is being sold at a cheaper price with damages that the buyer is required to fix. In these cases, doing a frame check that will show any frame/fork/geometry damages is HIGHLY recommended. Do NOT simply rely on the information that the seller is providing, even he/she may not be aware of all the problems. Have the crashed bike checked and know what you are getting into.
    • Clean title, Salvage title A clean title doesn't mean the bike is free of serious issues. A Salvaged title doesn't mean the bike may have any problems. Every case is different. Some bikes are seriously damaged in a crash, but an insurance claim is never made on them, so they still have a clean title. Some bikes have had mostly cosmetic damages in a crash, but the insurance company decided to pay off the bike and salvage the title rather than spending the money to fix it. Know what you are getting into and don't make any assumptions based on what the seller is telling you.
    • Registration: Know about the current registration status of the bike. Check with DMV if you have any questions about any possible back fees and other title/registration questions (out of state title, no title with bill of sales only, etc.) before purchasing the bike.

    • Comments within a sale thread should be on topic and educational. Aggressive critiques and inside jokes will not be tolerated.     • If you disagree with a price, keep it to yourself. The seller has set the price. If you don't like it, don't buy it and move on. If you really feel strongly about it, then PM the seller.

There is no direct sizing chart as there are too many different body types/torso lengths. I'm afraid that the 2008/9 may be too long for you depending on how much of your height is in your torso.

The thing to keep in mind when trying back protectors is that the top of the shield should be level with the low point of your shoulders (or about your T7 vertebrae), and terminate just above your tailbone. I find many riders wear back protectors that are too long, which can actually cause damage.
 
I have this picture. I am able to Adjust the back protector up and down. i think it's to high. and my pants are sagging a little. :laughing What do you think? my Son (4) took the picture. :laughing thanks for your help.

I haven't been in the store for awhile, but i've been meaning to go.
I purchased the portand tex jacket awhile back. Do you guys sell any over pants that have a simliar look. I know they can't zip together, but i'd like to get something made out of a simliar material.

We only make one overpant that is a waterproof. We aren't really keen on overpants as there is no way to make them as safe as a dedicated riding pant. Having said that, we have lots of different textile pants that many people use as overpants.

To be perfectly honest, there are a lot of fitment problems with the models on the website. The pictures are there to illustrate what the product looks like, not necessarily to exhibit the correct fit.

If that is you in the photo, I would definitely say that it is too long. I would not have put you in a back protector that long.

There used to be a good illustration on the website showing exactly how a BP should fit, but it is no longer there since the redesign. I'll see if I can dig it up.

Use a separate. We have more than a few options for you. Fitment is critical, so if you can, come in with your suit so we can fit you with the different BP's to see what works best for you. If you can't come in, let's take this to PM's so I can guide you.

Yes. Is the zipper itself broken, or just the zipper pull? I can fix the zipper pull for you in the shop while you wait.

Our zippers are pretty sturdy, but we make the pulls kinda fragile, almost like a fuse. We'd rather you break the pulls by tugging on them, instead of damaging the zipper itself.

Bringing it by the shop shop and I'll take care of it.
