Check Kelly Blue book, NADA, CycleTrader, Ebay, Craigslist (even though some people on Craigslist are asking non-realistically high prices and will never be able to sell the bike at their asking price), and know what the current market value of a similar bike is before considering a purchase. Consider the maintenance work or fixes that YOU need to do to the bike, and factor that into the price. It is ok to pay more for a bike that has had all of the maintenance work done to it recently, or pay less and get a bike that needs some work, but you must know this in advance and be ok with it.
    • Inspecting the bike: if you are not experienced yourself, have a mechanic or an experienced friend check the bike before making a purchase. Crashed bikes:This is even more important if you are buying a bike that is being sold at a cheaper price with damages that the buyer is required to fix. In these cases, doing a frame check that will show any frame/fork/geometry damages is HIGHLY recommended. Do NOT simply rely on the information that the seller is providing, even he/she may not be aware of all the problems. Have the crashed bike checked and know what you are getting into.
    • Clean title, Salvage title A clean title doesn't mean the bike is free of serious issues. A Salvaged title doesn't mean the bike may have any problems. Every case is different. Some bikes are seriously damaged in a crash, but an insurance claim is never made on them, so they still have a clean title. Some bikes have had mostly cosmetic damages in a crash, but the insurance company decided to pay off the bike and salvage the title rather than spending the money to fix it. Know what you are getting into and don't make any assumptions based on what the seller is telling you.
    • Registration: Know about the current registration status of the bike. Check with DMV if you have any questions about any possible back fees and other title/registration questions (out of state title, no title with bill of sales only, etc.) before purchasing the bike.

    • Comments within a sale thread should be on topic and educational. Aggressive critiques and inside jokes will not be tolerated. Don't fuck it up, because the next step is disabling the "reply" feature entirely.
    • If you disagree with a price, keep it to yourself. The seller has set the price. If you don't like it, don't buy it and move on. If you really feel strongly about it, then PM the seller.
    • If you are interested in an item, feel free to PM, email or contact the seller privately. Feel free to post if you need clarification... however, your post should be in line with above mentioned rules.

I'm 6'4, 210 lbs, average build and I tried on a 48/58 Laguna Seca suit yesterday and found that the legs were perfect and the jacket height was perfect (shoulders pulled in), but the arms were loose and there was extra material in the stomach area before getting in riding position. Are all Dainese suits cut the same or is there another model I should look at that might fit better?

I also attempted to try on a 46/56 and I couldn't get it over my shoulders. Sounds like my options with Dainese suits right now are to go custom or get a 2 piece.

Every suit model is cut differently, so I'm sure we have something that will fit you off the rack. It's quite rare that we actually have to go the custom route.

Come by the shop and we'll get you sized up.

We were shown a pre-production prototype, but it is not confirmed in the lineup yet. It really depends on how many dealers put in an order for them as to whether it will go into production or not. I'll let you know as soon as I have some concrete info on them.

On your Italian website http://www.dainese.com/it_en/motorbike a model is wearing the Horizon jacket and what looks to be pants made of the same material except for leather around the knees/slider area. And now that I look closer there is also leather in the butt-tocks area. :roflm - sorry was watching Forrest Gump last nite


Edit: After clicking one the of + signs, the pants in question have been revealed to be Horizon Pants. These would make excellent hot weather pants plus they have sliders. Can we get them on this side of the pond? And if so what is the damage?

I've been asking to get those removed from the site since it first went up. I have no idea why they haven't removed them yet.

Unfortunately, those pants never went into production as the build cost was too high and they would have cost the same as our leather pants. There has been a redesign that has eliminated the knee sliders and that pant may make it into the new collection. I have not received confirmation on that as of yet, though.

I truly wish they had made that pant as I had well over fifty people on the waiting list for them. Oh, well...

Ok, didn't read all the pages of this thread, but looking for a size 52-54 coat. No one seems to make this size for obivious reasons...

Or, I need my current Vanson full set altered?

Color is not a big deal. Prefer Red & blue.. Size . I wear a small in Fox.. So small / medium will work.
