Check Kelly Blue book, NADA, CycleTrader, Ebay, Craigslist (even though some people on Craigslist are asking non-realistically high prices and will never be able to sell the bike at their asking price), and know what the current market value of a similar bike is before considering a purchase. Consider the maintenance work or fixes that YOU need to do to the bike, and factor that into the price. It is ok to pay more for a bike that has had all of the maintenance work done to it recently, or pay less and get a bike that needs some work, but you must know this in advance and be ok with it.
    • Inspecting the bike: if you are not experienced yourself, have a mechanic or an experienced friend check the bike before making a purchase. Crashed bikes:This is even more important if you are buying a bike that is being sold at a cheaper price with damages that the buyer is required to fix. In these cases, doing a frame check that will show any frame/fork/geometry damages is HIGHLY recommended. Do NOT simply rely on the information that the seller is providing, even he/she may not be aware of all the problems. Have the crashed bike checked and know what you are getting into.
    • Clean title, Salvage title A clean title doesn't mean the bike is free of serious issues. A Salvaged title doesn't mean the bike may have any problems. Every case is different. Some bikes are seriously damaged in a crash, but an insurance claim is never made on them, so they still have a clean title. Some bikes have had mostly cosmetic damages in a crash, but the insurance company decided to pay off the bike and salvage the title rather than spending the money to fix it. Know what you are getting into and don't make any assumptions based on what the seller is telling you.
    • Registration: Know about the current registration status of the bike. Check with DMV if you have any questions about any possible back fees and other title/registration questions (out of state title, no title with bill of sales only, etc.) before purchasing the bike.

    • Comments within a sale thread should be on topic and educational. Aggressive critiques and inside jokes will not be tolerated.     • If you disagree with a price, keep it to yourself. The seller has set the price. If you don't like it, don't buy it and move on. If you really feel strongly about it, then PM the seller.

Dan was talking to me about the same concept because my current jacket is to baggy. You want a snug fitting jacket so that the armor doesnt move on you in case of a spill. Protection only works when properly fitted.

Ask me when you come in to try on the Milano, and I'll go through proper fitment with you if you like. Essentially, if you are wearing a leather that is large enough to fit a sweatshirt underneath, it is far too big to protect you properly. On top of the fact that the layer underneath will act as a "lubricant" to allow the jacket to shift around or pull completely off of you. No bueno on all counts.

I have a size 48 jacket and pants, the del mar and delta to be exact. I feel like the jacket is a little small, when i zip em together and use em, it feels like that spandex material that the zipper is connected to is always stretched and exposed between the jacket and pants. Is this normal? or should i have purchased a bigger jacket? I'm 5'10 150lbs btw.

Do you have any 1-piece leather suits on sale? I'm 185 pounds and 6 feet tall. I currently wear a leather zen jacket size 52 and leather pants size 54, and both seem to fit me really well.

what does the "s.f." mean in for example "Hooper s.f. D-dry" and why do those pants cost $40 less than the regular "Hooper D-dry"?

That is perfectly normal for the stretch panel to be exposed. Without looking a you, I can not tell you if the rest of the fit is good. Feel free to drop by the shop, and I'll have a look at ya.

The S.F. version of the Hooper uses the exact same shell, but does not have the removable thermal liner, thus the price difference.

As to the meaning of SF, it is a referance to our fair city. Dainese uses many city names in the line up such as the SF leather jacket and pants, as well as the Berlino, Edinborough, London, etc...

Not your normal sort of question, but uhh... it's me posting ;o)

This post got me wondering. Has Dainese ever hooked up with a top fashion design house like Chanel, Louis Vuitton or Prada? It'd be out of left field for everyone but could be very interesting (and hawt).
