Barf Baja 2016 - The ride begins!

One of my favorite roads :thumbup

I can't wait for the after ride meet. I need to hear all the stories. :love

Quit holding out Aaron, and post some pics and info...

Back at Mama Espinosa's. Everyone was able to regroup in Bola and all the bikes were loaded up for the trip home. No one left behind!

The Bahia 200 is happening today and we all went down to town last night for the race tech party. Super fun to see all the Baja bugs and race trucks.

Home tomorrow!

It was one of my favorite roads too, I remember it just rained and the road had great traction. I liked the layout of the mission and that stairwell up to the roof was cool.

I know Aaron, Im sitting on the edge of my seat waiting to know what happened to the Kabooms.

Staying in Ensenada for the night, cross the border in the morning. After a week of small towns, this place is too crowded & sucks.
:laughing

CJ says go to The Paris. Your evening will no longer suck. :laughing

We just got across the border after 3hrs in line and are having pizza in San Diego. Home tomorrow to start prepping for Baja 2017.

We made i through the border 0745 had a line of about 5 cars and through te border. Haha we did make the wrong turn but we found the crossing eventually. Now we get treated to a free bike wash!

We stayed at a hotel called Villa Marina in Ensanada. Funny thing is we found this one motel and it was 320 pesos. We ask for a room for thr night and they only rent for 6 hours. Turns out this was a love hotel. It had garages so you could hide your car, it was kinda funny.

I'm home safe and sound. It was an absolutely awesome trip with a lots of great adventures and people. I could have not asked for more, well maybe to conquer the NWT, but that is another story. Shout out to Leo for supplying the transport vehicle, Daniel the trailer and CJ for crafting another awesome trip and helping me make memories I will never forget.

I'm super bummed one of our warriors came back battered and three of the coolest bikes and riders were not able to complete the ride due to mechanicals. Baja can be an unforgiving mistress. With that said, these guys will have their bikes and bodies sorted and be ready for the next great adventure. I can't wait for Baja 2017!

Welcome home Tom, can't wait to hear all about it!

Merlin & I rolled in about 6 tonight.
What an incredibly fun trip, made possible by all involved. I have lots of pics to sort, and will start a ride report as soon as I can.

Key Question: Did you have fun?

Looking forward to more epic pics.:ride
Sorry to read that your adventure ended prematurely Aaron.:(
Josh, too! Man Josh, it's been forever, how ya doing?

I'm in Marin tonight, but will be back up at the Chateau de Redneck by tomorrow night.

Awesome trip! Thank you to all who made it possible and I cant wait for 2017.

Short teaser recap.....
- One bike didnt leave the Bay Area, 3 others died in Baja, and one went for a swim down there.
- A solo iron man record drive from the Bay to Bola was made.
- There was no "adult" entertainment unless you consider one participant going Putin to count.
- An unsuspecting BWM adventure rider was abducted from the Starbucks in Bola and we attempted to break both him and the bike (rider fared better than the bike).
- An attempt was made on the no wimps trail.
- A lesson on dehydration was learned
- New routes were ridden and plenty of tequila consumed.
- Some nights were spent on the sand under the stars, cheap motels, or the floor where they last remembered drinking.
- Cacti was removed from body parts, and body parts removed from the silt.
- Some riders and bikes were christened with new Baja names.
- Generous locals stepped up as usual to help.
- New friends on and off the ride were made.
- All participants are safely back in NorCal.

More later tonight after I catch up on my Downton Abbey. :twofinger

And who went in the drink on their Honda? Leo, Tom, or CJ?

That would be me, though Tom and CJ came close. Check out the new name of my bike on my profile (page 1 of this thread). Can't kill an XR4 even if you try to drown it.

So many stories I need time to process them. Fuck yeah Baja.

How to perform CPR on an XR400: remove spark plug and carburetor, turn it upside down to drain the water out, crank it a few times to expel rest of water, let dry, turn back over, reassemble, kick it 3 times. Done.
