its kinda about the $

first dates are about money(in part) if you buy her the $4 top will you throw in the $3 thong? and if at dinner you say 'anything'.... is that the lobster as well?, are you going to say .. 'well, i was thinkn' the 6.99 steak and all-you-can-eat-salad bar, for you!!' :wtf

i agree, the first date is all equally these things and DON'T go heavy on any one... fun, security, $, humor, personality... leave the sex out(she knows you got it!!!) guys are horn dogs, and :boobies rule... we all know whats up.

if she likes the first 5... you get the 6th = GF

and out of the 5, security and humor FTW!!!

I should clarify: I'm not saying a dude should be a cheap ass. When you take a girl out, you show her a good time and spare no expense doing it. Take her to a nice restaurant; order up, if she wants steak & lobster, maybe a nice bottle of wine; do it and don't make a big deal about it. If after dinner she wants to go somewhere and dance, take her and don't whine about the 20 dollar per person cover charge.

Just lay off the gifts, fawning and puppy dog behavior, that is all.

I know most here don't recommend a movie for a first date, but it's something you get to experience together and can discuss afterwards. It's an instant ice-breaker and takes pressure off the resume-like personal 'interview' that is often done... :hand

I'd much rather DO something than just sit and talk - one can find out more about the other person by how they respond to situations or events than what they talk/brag/lie about, lol.


Some great ideas in here - karting, shooting, hiking, riding, long walks on the beach... and others... :later

Well I'm kinda old and stuff.
Just recently divorced. So my first date is Wed the 19th, the day after my trackday. I already made reservations for dinner and drinks at a fine Italian restaurant here in town...........


So girls, tell me.

Italian restaurant Good idea, bad idea?
And what kind of conversation would you prefer?

Italian is fine, though I'd lay off the garlic. Esp. if she's hawt and you wanna put the :sex on her later. As for conversation, seem like you are GENUINELY interested in her, ESP if you're not. hahaha.... :laughing Dude, come on, you've been married, you should know what to do and what not to do. It's good to be back, if only in some sort of form. I miss riding, just can't do it right now. Hopefully soon, will be back up on it. I miss the insanity that is BARF! :) Let us know how the date goes... *wink wink*
