BMW HP2 Sport?

That price wouldn't be unreasonable for a regular r12s, and those are hard to find. For a piece of unobtanium like this, it's a steal. How rare is it? I saw one at a BMW track day once, and no one one here is claiming to have ridden one in real life.

I touched one once. :leghump

Funny part about that is if you sat on both the BMWs blinfolded and blipped the throttle, you have a hard time telling which was which. :laughing

That thing is cool and all, especially if you're an old air-head fan(I grew up lusting after an Udo Gietl built R90S) and it might even be a good investment but, I think this is the one you want Stan... :party

By that comment, I'm guessing you've never heard the HP2 Sport running... :rofl

The Enduro is cool - esp. with the 17" wheels! :ride

Stan, are you a member of BMW Motorcycle Owners of America? You may be able to find someone in the Houston area that's willing to take a look at the bike. I've done this before with favorable results.

Current owner may be busy with race season?

When the sale does go through, I'd love to let you ride my '66 R69S so you can compare :toothless

only info I have is it vibrates like a paint shaker.

but sexxy as fuck with the Carbon bodywork and Carbon sub frame

the air shock for the HP2 Enduro is a PITA...

some people put the GS wheels instead of the 17 ones that come with it....lot more stable and less flighty...

i love the r12s but there's a noticeable flat spot and delay on throttle response on the 07s which is another PITA to cure...

but even with my bitchin' and moanin', i'd love to have any of them ....:love

Everything blue and white on that bike are painted CF parts, belly-pan, fairings, all the way to the front (no sub-frame holding it up, you'll see it vibrating the mirrors at idle)... except for the blue frame, which stopped just under the seat. The rear sub-frame/tail section is a solid CF, also the cylinder heads.

Most of BMW modern bikes are 50-state legal... one exception is the G450X, that thing was 49-state legal the first year or two it was out.

The HP2 boxer engine is amazing... you can feel its relationship to the regular boxers, but everything happens much quicker, with much faster revving and lighter feel.

The handling... I'm looking forward to read your write-up on this one, Stan. :)

The front Telelever... well, let's just say that with conventional forks, you are used to being yelled at. With the Telelever, it's quieter. You'll start 'hearing' it soon enough, then suddenly you realize you can come into a corner at a faster speed, braking harder and later, transition to the throttle quicker too. Anyway, I'm saying too much already. :laughing

Hope you get the bike and have fun! :thumbup
