Breaking Bad, Cont'd. (SPOILERS!!!)

he knew and i am betting arranged the killing of the other cartel leader only because things were getting messy and he didnt need an inside war on his hands.

yeah gus certainly had the cartel head killed.

looks like gus is trying to be the main meth distributor by using walt and his primo meth. walt has the best product in town.

by killing the cartel head gus was killing off the number one meth distributor and his main competition allowing him to take over the number one spot.

I love this show, but I have mixed feelings about last nights episode; I loved the way Gus is showing that he's a Bad Mofo!!! I hate Jessie. I hate the way Mr. White is letting down Gus by not making the deadline.

I wonder what will happen to the Nerdy Phd Chemist? Can you believe that they would just 'escort' him from the bldg, after what he has seen....? Is he going to turn up dead in a later episode?

Still, it's a GREAT show!!!!

Excellent episode tonight. Which each episode I like Gus more and more. Did he have anything to do with that other Cartel guy getting raided and shot? Probably...

It's too bad one of the assassins died...him recovering and possibly talking could have led to some awesome scenes im sure.

both cousins died. one at the crime scene, the other murdered in the hospital.

originally, i thought mr chicken had him in there to learn the formula and make walt expendable. maybe he'll come back into the picture.

if you look at the sneak peek, you see jesse seems to be about to do something stupid, so who knows how long the jesse/chicken man deal can last

as for gus himself, we know he's south american and used to be a general. he is of at least partial african descent, so that likely narrows it down to columbia or venezuela. so he undoubtedly had ties to the old cocaine cartels. also, in the last episode, when tuco's uncle is objecting to doing business with him, that seems like it was about 20 or so years ago. think that's probably around the time the columbians started using the mexican cartels to run coke into the u.s.

another thing to remember is there are feuding cartels in mexico: the sinaloa cartel and the tijuana cartel in addition to juarez. so gus may have allied himself with a rival cartel instead of making a move completely on his own, although that is a possibility also.

either way, there has to be a shitstorm over this and walt is right in the middle.

Thats what I meant...worded it wrong. Its too bad the one in the hospital died is what I meant to say...him staying alive to talk would have been intense.

you guys saw who killed the other cousin tough right? it wasnt one of gus's men it was the lawyers fixer. you see him deposit a needle into a sharps container on his way out.

That dude is Gus' man too. He works for both Gus and Saul. Remember when Saul hired him to bug Skylar's house and put it under surveillance, when the Mexitwins showed up? It was him that called Gus and allowed Gus to call off the hit.

You guys really dropped the ball on this one... :twofinger

The episode last night rocked!

Meh. This season started off pretty good but tanked with that lame episode a few weeks back. The overall story is starting to get TV stupid I'm afraid. Shame. Will someone please just execute Jesse for fucks sake!?

As much of a douche as Jesse is, the story line needs him to keep fucking up.

you'd think that now that he is sober that he'll start acting somewhat rational but he's still on a meth haze type downard spiral. I guess his girlfriend dying really is screwing him up.

I agree with elbacalao's assessment that it is getting TV stupid. It's still entertaining but I think I liked it better when Jesse and Walt were relatively on the same page. Right now they are just not. Hence, some of you wanting to see Jesse dead.

A more interesting plot arc would've been for Jesse and Walt working together to try and get a bigger piece of the pie from GUS. Right now it's not the Jesse and Walt show, it's the Walt and Gus show.

But I give this show a long leash cause of past glories and I still think that it can get back on track on being super cutting edge without being too cartoony.

The one thing that remains constant is my hate for Skylar. I really wanted Walt to start getting together with another chick that fully supports and gets what Walt is doing and completely lose interest in Skylar. I want Walt to find a true partner, not some lame ass that 's going to spread her legs to another man on the first sign of trouble. Fuck Her. I'm still hoping that Walt throws down the hammer on her about cheating with TED and make her feel like shit.

It also would have been an awesome scene if WALT came over as Skylar's bitch ass boss, TED, was over at the house in last nights episode. That would have been another classic moment for this show. I can never forgive that bitch for cheating on WALT.

having said all that, I can't wait for next week's episode :twofinger

I try to give the writers some slack when they get lazy halfway through a season, but last night's episode was really a dud. No major plot developments, everything was canned dialog (like when skylar went on for 10 minutes about Walt's "gambling problem"), and next week doesn't look to deliver much either. I hope this is the calm before a shitstorm of killing off main characters, and plot twists. I'd like to see walt get addicted to meth at some point, too.

Yeah, that was a pretty fucking mediocre moment, I agree

This show took a turn for the worse when the Hank was laying on the ground about to get the fatal bullet and the brother about to shoot him says, "No, too easy" and walks back to get an ax. It was pretty obvious at that point that Hank was going live. I'd like to chop the head off the dumbass who agreed to that whole scene. Fuckin Ghey. Killing Hank, THEN chopping his head off with an ax and taking it with him would have been way better. This show has no balls. The last two episodes since then have done nothing to redeem it IMO. I'll keep watching this season, unless it gets even more stupid, and hope that it turns around.

+1. The problem is that since they won all those awards, they went mainstream, and have to cater to the masses. The inevitable downside of making something great... Someone will always want to coopt it for the masses and ruin it.

srsly, who the hell does that outside of a james bond movie?

another thing, they're supposed to be from michoacan, they should have had gold plated machetes, not axes :thumbdown

yeah, but it did reveal what a hypocrite skyler is in that she is so judgmental and unforgiving toward walt despite the fact that she perfectly understands his motivation for doing what he did and she doesn't hesitate to use his "ill gotten gain" when it's really needed.

WHAT?!?!?!?! I honestly did not see that ending coming! I thought it would end with Jesse and the dealers in a standoff which would be resolved next week...but wow that was fucking insane! Why would Walt do that for Jesse?

It seems like the preview for next week Walt was getting back into his "Heisenberg" (sp?) character. Next week's episode is going to be fantastic since its the season finale.

Because for once, Jesse was right. They killed the kid and Walt felt somewhat responsible being the keystone to the whole enterprise. Without him, that kid would be alive.

The show is finally touching on a moral high ground, which may give it some real substance.
