Bump if you rode into work today

LC is easy, put it in first with the clutch pulled, hold the starter, it'll say Pit Lane but keep holding then it'll say Launch or something similar, let go of the starter and then WOT it, then feather the clutch out (don't drop it, it'll automatically bog to stop a loop).

I don't think you need to do anything in the options at all for LC, just Pit Lane lets you set an RPM cut off. I'm assuming the red plug is in the bike as well (right side of the tank under the seat) so you can get access to User and Slick modes as well.

Ah, that's a lot easier than I thought! Thanks:thumbup

Still not going to use it on the street, trying not to be the guy sitting at 8k waiting for the light to pop :laughing

You should set the pit lane and then putter around town in pit lane mode. It's pretty comical hearing the engine banging against a redline limiter at like 25mph.

You should mess around in the options menu though for the DDC and stuff. User Mode gives you a lot of fun options. And the menus are actually rather easy to navigate once you figure out the holding down to select operation. The manual is more complicated than it needs to be.

:rofl so do you set the limit at a specific mph speed or is it engine rpm speed?

"hey bro ride my bike it's super fast" :laughing:rofl

Engine speed, it's like 4000-8000 rpm in the settings. I can't remember the granularity of it though, might be 100 rpm intervals.

Oh, but you have to keep holding down the starter to remain in pit limit mode. It's kind of a pain in the ass for a long duration.

Happy Friday everybody!

Good job on riding in two weeks straight! Nice looking CBR too.

I rode Marsh Creek to Vasco and back before work, feeling ready for the day :D

That thing is so badass.

Wheel base is too long to take the turn at the landing :laughing

Thanks, I don't know how they let me buy it. I still wake up expecting this to be a dream since I've been looking at the BMW since it's introduction in 2009. I keep reminding myself that I am in the highest risk category especially with the bike being new to me. I am happy to report that my sense of self preservation is still firmly intact and the mere ownership of such a machine hasn't turned me into more of a risk taker :laughing

People say it's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow...well I prefer to have the extra headroom :laughing although I suppose I should leave with the caveat that my impressions and opinions are subject to change and I am less than 500 miles in on this thing :ride

Monday bump

I like doing Marsh Creek before work, wakes me up and not much traffic!
