Do you remove the front fairing often? I swear Monday you got onto 242S with me, was going to give you the barf solute
but didn't see a fairing on the front..I can only imagine. I am Concord -> Walnut Creek, all of 6 miles the long way. How many miles of lane splitting do you get everyday?

Well, technically I live in Concord and drive 6 miles to my buddy's place in PH off of North Main, and then go from PH to SJ.
Morning commute is probably 6-10 miles of splitting. Commute home is probably closer to 20 miles due to the lack of express/carpool lanes.
I'll post a picture up if I remember to take one.

Nope, I've only ridden with it removed once in the last month or so. I always regret not taking the time to pop it back on whenever I do since it makes such a big difference. I also stick to 680 on my rides home.

Wind protection is something I have yet to experience on a moto. Was going to rent a harley in Chicago for a couple days while my wife attends a conference but plans fell through.
Definitely feel better about not getting "your" attention this morning. I was going to do my best to make it to your highlight reel

My bikes are covered when at work, rain or shine.
The one I pictured is a 1997. It's no garage queen. It has its share of battle scars but any cosmetic damage that bike has was inflicted by me while riding it, not by the sun while parked.

Nah, it's just where the bike is stored since my garage is full of a table saw and some extra refrigerators.

Yes! My 90 mile commute home from Santa Barbara to Los Angeles was the highlight of my day, twice a week! I don't know how long I would have looked forward to if if I had to do it everyday though...

Car people don't understand that. Their loss.
It also explains why I become an unbearably impatient fuck-stick when I'm in a car.

This is a sore subject between my wife and I when I'm in the car with her. If I drive it's way too fast and if she drives I'm constantly working to keep my mouth shut

I'd say the R1 definitely feels more special than the S1KRR. But based on other people's opinions only (haven't ridden one, don't know how I would for a few years until used ones start showing up), the throttle on the R1 is a bit much on the street.
My buddy (where I store the bike) loves himself some Kenny Roberts and is still trying to get a 50th R6, assuming anybody on Craigslist actually tells the truth and replies to his questions on what they're trying to sell.
The S1KRR is comically easy/smooth to ride. And having heated grips and cruise control, and full up/down blipping, exceedingly noob friendly and nice to be on.
Most days, used to do it in any weather (back in Italy I was leaving the bike home only in the snow). Now I got a bit spoilt by the Californian weather and I avoid the rain...
