Calorie burning while riding?

Feeling hungry? Go for a ride to forget about it.
If you need advice, feel free to pm me!

Thanks :thumbup

Loses weight faster than exercise.

Actually, make sure you eat at least 1200 cal a day, that way you prevent going into starvation ketosis. So yeah, watch what you eat too...

when you sweat you burn calories. Riding in hot weather tonight in Hope Solo mode youre burning calories.

In stop mostly.

Is so damn hot!!!:teeth

get a heart rate monitor and find out.. pretty easy.

I know a few AMA Pro Riders that wear them. Last guy showed me his numbers and it was ridiculously low. Like me sitting on the couch drinking a beer low but he is a machine so. I know his is unordinary low.

I just verified that pushing an XR650L nearly three miles is much better exercise than walking that far without it. :laughing

I don't have a truck, the nearest shop that can look at it, figure out what's wrong, and fix it is not quite three miles away, and part of that is down hill. I finally realized that I'm really not up to diagnosing the exact cause of why it isn't getting any spark, plus I would have to buy more electronic "tools" (i.e., expensive stuff) to properly diagnose whatever I can't check with my cheapo Radio Shack multimeter. So I pushed the bike to the shop before it got too hot this morning.

As soon as I get it back, I'll make a run up to Mammoth Bar to practice on some trails there, then up to Forrest Hill for some more serious "exercise". Hopefully none of that will involve pushing the bike. :cool

AMA membership will get you free towing up to 35 miles. :)

Will they tow anytime I want the bike hauled somewhere for any reason? Or is limited to when I'm stranded somewhere?

Not sure but how would they know the difference? :)

Maybe the fact that I would be rolling the bike out of my garage?

In any case, it's done and this discussion doesn't seem to be headed anywhere promising.

FWIW, "starvation" mode is pretty much a myth, and ketosis is completely unrelated.

Ketosis is simply the state in which you burn fat for fuel, instead of carbs or sugars. If you're eating less than 1200 calories a day but its all bread or pasta, you won't be entering ketosis. I usually manage 1500-1800 day (6'2" 235, so thats almost a 1000 cal deficit) simply by staying in ketosis (eating fat and protein instead of carbs) it's called a ketogenic diet and it's worked wonders for me, I've lost 40lbs since February and am just now starting to work out. Weight loss really is mostly diet, you don't need to burn off calories you don't consume in the first place.
