The French Canadians are the original. Followed by the Scandinavians....then American draft dodgers.

Never tell a tell a French person that they speak french in Canada, and never tell a Cajun that they speak French (or French Canadian). Good way to start a fight. Even the frogs don't like each other.

You can't walk a block in Puerto Vallarta or Mazatlan without seeing someone wearing a t-shirt with a maple leaf on it.

Driving into BC last summer, I was asked at the border if I was carrying any guns. I said no, and then this French Canadian chick, who was the border guard, proceeded to give me a lecture about why Canada doesn't believe in gun ownership.
Really hard not to tell her to fuck herself.

While in Baja for 3 months this year we decided that the entire country of Canada leaves for the winter. los Barilles might as well just call itself Souther BC. The place is crawling with em. That said we loved it and hung ooot with some Canucs for a few weeks drinking eating snorkling and such. Lovely people .
Then we drove the RV to maine, crossed over to Ottawa and visited the reletives on my moms side. My uncle is dying of some parkinsons type thing, and it was rough seeing him like that,as he was always a big tough hockey player kind of guy. The point is, he is VERY well taken care of. My aunt didnt have to go into the poor house getting him some care for the last couple of years of his life.
So it seems that at least some parts of their socialist set up works. The other side is that all, and I mean every one, of my younger cousins is working the system. Have never had a job, and might never get one. They could coast on in mediocrity forever.
Its a weird thing when the Gov makes all the jobs and takes care of you when there's a problem, or when there's not a problem... I think it's without a doubt a flawed system, but what can I say about it? Our system is a huge failure waiting and ready to crash and burn any day now. Our Gov spends zillions masterbating while they actually seem to be getting some...

Oh, and somehow they've taught their women to be the nicest, filthy sluts. And I say that with all due respect. The girls seem to all have dirty minds and mouths, will drink you under the table then join you there at the drop of a tuque(canadian hat).

Funny how people like to attack OPs for their opinions, even if they don't make one known.

I post here just to keep the threads rolling. Especially when it seems it has been a while since something new has come up. I post my experiences and opinions and I usually try to add a bit of humor in the posts in an attempt to make the read more enjoyable.
What I see is adversarial aggression, sometimes vitriol and always some waaay OT thread derailing. That's fine, I guess. This is the KS. Gloves are supposed to be off and opinions candid and unadulterated. It just seem that some of you get a sore pussy very easy.
Example:
Read the OP.
It merely tells a story of my interactions with Canadian down here and if anyone knows why. Seems plenty of folks have some of the same experiences. Others more positive. My experiences are real and I tell the stories just how they occurred. I don't condemn Canada or any other nation, except maybe France. I don't say America is the best country, even though it is. I don't state that the USA doesn't have its share of DBs.
You folks imply that is what I said and fucking go off like a bunch of rejected school boys.

Then the personal attacks. I moved to Mexico because I hate the US?
I don't hate the US or any other country for that matter, except maybe France. I don't hate California either. I just no longer have tolerance for the bullshit and non-logic that drives that state.
Fleeing a country or moving to another under duress is not the only reason that people emigrate. Some do it for a change.
I moved to Mexico because...wait for it.... I love Mexico. Always have. This isn't the first country other than the US that I have lived in and it probably won't be the last.
I have heard that I am a tax dodger, loan defaulter and some other unsavory things.

You only apparently digest fractions of what you read.
One fact remains:
You will go about your lives, paying taxes in California for very little return. You will struggle with each and every day and each new hurdle that state will put in front of your right to happiness. You will rationalize that it is your decision to live the ways required in California and will keep telling yourself that it is what you want. Fine. More power to you.
I saw something different and took action and control of my life as much as possible in an attempt to shape my own destiny. There are some of you here that do or will do the same thing. Most will not because you are delusional or simply don't have the balls.
Continue with the venom, it doesn't affect me. My life goes on in the way I chose and today I choose to hang out with my friends at the beach. American, Canadian and others.

I have nevet met a Canadian here, in Canada or abroad that I didn't get along with and have never had any one of them try to put their country "above" mine. Ok answer for you?
