Cars that make your jaw drop.

Swore it was a custom 56 Nomad :laughing
I like it. The hood bird looks a little too "Chevy on a Ford" for me but it's still a good looking car.

It was called the Parklane, their answer to the Nomad. Very nice. :thumbup

If Beau happens upon this thread, he could top that with a pic of his father-in-law's '57 Nomad fuelie. I about shit when he showed me that.

Might be a little out of some of y'all's wheelhouse, but THIS one blew my mind.

Badass!

Looking at it, I'm thinking, "I don't think Ford ever built a Crown Vic wagon". And I guess I was right. Killer build; beautifully executed.

I’ll just put these here. Just like I did a year ago, these are from the 1/2 mile races in the dust bowl that’s called the Coalinga airstrip. I’ll edit this post later when I pull videos from the built in camera. But for now here’s the helmet cam and my new dragy app (with my phone camera taking the video).

The trip was super dusty and poorly prepared. Launch traction is just awful here which is why 60 foot, 0-60, and so on are absurdly slow far a car with these kind of trap speeds. I left stability control on and just did launch control starts all day. You can hear the computer pulling all kinds of power in 1st and 2nd along with it short shifting the transmission a bit.

Dusty strips are very hazardous. Saturday a 1500hp Audi R8 fresh off some $100k build (actually driven by a buddy of mine) got sideways and spun off into the dirt. And Sunday I saw some super powerful Lambo Huracan do the same thing. And just as I was leaving, something else spun right after they crossed the finish line so it was a super crazy slide. Nothing flipped though.

Added the PDR view...

Don’t suppose dad added him to the policy of his $3M Pagani as an occasional driver did he?

Hey Rob, found a vid of the guy that wrecked his Audi R8 at Coalinga.
Apparently, he has a few cars. Not much actual footage from the car and it looks like, based on the amount of dust he's kicking up, he was running way far to the left and not in a clean section.
Tried to use the [youtube] tags. : |

Start around the 7 minute mark.

Yeah I know all about it. Like I said, I know the driver. He brought three cars of his own out there, including the NSX I built him. But that wasn’t his Audi. Friend of his let him drive it to try it out (it was a fresh new super expensive sheepyrace build with 1500hp). Traction out there was complete crap, lots of dust and I’m not sure there really was a clean lane to run in. But we think the wheel sheared off. He tells me that he remembers seeing the tire rolling past the car as it was leaving the track.

There's one in the Petersen Museum in Vegas, also. Definitely a :sex beast!

I've seen one at Canepa more than 2-3 times. IIRC it is a customer car (is actually driven) and not for sale.
