I have a picture of me with one at Canapa somewhere.
The Maserati was behind me on 101, then it was in front of me, then behind me, then in front of me. Lame driver too. I was doing a steady 70 mph. There were some lane changes to maintain my constant speed. Still made my jaw drop
 
I don't know about race car history but I do know the Gulf livery looks amazing
