Cars that make your jaw drop.

I saw this, tail lights looked like a 60's MG sedan, but it had an electric front, no grill.
and a VW emblem.
Then I took a rear pix, air cooled.
Tail lights smoothed off more than the MG,

I made the trek on north on HWY 96 to check out an old wrecking yard. 3 years ago this property had over 4000 (FOUR THOUSAND!!) cars on it.
On the first visit, my friend and I were almost overwhelmed with how many cars were still left (500 or so), and the broad range of what was there. We made a point to book a second opportunity to come back north, with 3 trucks and trailers, and take some vehicles home with us. On Friday, I got 1 of the two that I wanted.
Some back story: I have been looking for a mid to late 1960's Ford or Mercury big block station wagon for a few years now. They are getting pretty hard to find. I gave up looking because people think their junk is worth WAY more that it should be (in my opinion).
Well, fate shined down on me, and I found two of exactly what I was looking for.
This first one is a 1965 Mercury Colony Park 8 passenger wagon with the 'Marauder' 390 'Special' engine. Factory A/C. Almost 17 feet long.
Original engine, transmission and rear end, full interior and mostly straight body. Yes, there's rust, but it's remarkably rust free, with most of it being surface rust. I am STOKED! Don't let the moss and dirt fool you. This is a beauty. More pics after the pressure wash and cleanup.
