Well would anyone want some scoop on the flick? I am in it as an extra and we did have product placement (the K&L side). I also gave product placement advice. For those who don't know we make or sell service equipment for the powersports industry. For all of you who feel that this film doesn't show the real side of the life it is intended to, you really don't get it. While on location I got the opportunity to talk with a lot of the guys from the LA area. Since my background IS dragracing and (yes Street racing sorry to say...eeehhh I was young once to), the bikes are fast here if they are in the mid 9s....back east if you aren't in the 8s or flat 9s don't bother coming to the track. So that was frustrating, here I was an Indy boy looking for speed and finding wheelie and stoppie boys.
The film doesn't show all the betting that goes on, at least not at the scenes I was in, and let me tell you there is a lot of it in real life. It is Hollywood and it is entertainment, I had pitched several comments hoping that it would make it's way to the screen, and that was all I could do.
Brendon Fehr hadn't ridden much before the film and I told an AD that whoever was showing him how to launch, was showing him wrong. Tire had too much air and he wasn't walking the bike so only the dead center was hot, I told them he was going to loop it....he did.
Kid Rock was very serious about working... I know I know, but he genuinely worked at it.
Laurence was very cool and he is massivly into bikes. All in all I want to see it, if not just so I can point and say.."that's me....right there....right there behind the crowd of people" LOL As to Fast and Furious, yes several of the people behind the scenes were involved.
It is entertainment and it should be entertaining...if not completely accurate...but fun, which is what movies are supposed to be. Maybe just maybe if enough people go to see it and voice opinions that they would like to see a film.with yayda yada yada then maybe someone will make it.
My .02 from behind the scenes.
