It is entertainment and it should be entertaining...if not completely accurate...but fun, which is what movies are supposed to be. Maybe just maybe if enough people go to see it and voice opinions that they would like to see a film.with yayda yada yada then maybe someone will make it.

My .02 from behind the scenes.

here is something that I posted back on page 4

I heard that Brando's, The Wild One, was a setback for the motorcycling community during it's time. The image of reckless motorcyclists and motorcyling gangs became pervasive among the non-motorcycling populance.

As motorcyclists are still a niche group and since public opinion is so oft to be shaped by popular culture (movies/television), what I saw in this trailer does not bode well for the impact that this movie could have.

One can only hope that this movie does not attract as much attention as Brando's.

I now recall where I heard about The Wild One being a setback to motorcycling because of the negative image that was portrayed. It was in an interview with Steve McQueen while he was shooting On Any Sunday--a movie that actually captures the spirit of motorcycling, a classic.

Bear in mind that negative images/perceptions are easily cultivated. It takes far more work, to build something positive. While BikerBoyz may be viewed as nothing more than entertainment by the folks that star in it, worked on it, produced it, and published it, it may well have profound effects on how motorcyclist (specifically sportbikers) are viewed by the masses.

Fortunately, unlike the era in which the Brando's movie debuted, we are in a society that is now inundated with information and images. Based on what is shown in the trailer, we should hope that this movie will NOT rise above the noise.

i'll watch it after i finish d/ling it.

i hear the same thing from "rice boys" that FatF was completely inaccurate and a bad image for people who drive imports in general.

Well, the Wild One was losely based on the events that happened at Hollister back in the day. It was that movie that created and image that we have fought to correct. At the same time it is that image (like it or not) that fueled the purchase of new bikes and in the end exposed many new people to the sport. As to and image of sport bike guys being changed to something bad.... uhhm it already is for most people not in the sport. Look at your insurance rates, I remember when the movie Top Gun came out and Tom Cruise on his GPZ ZX900 Ninja. Insurance rates went through the roof on that model. And thus began the backlash against the sportbike rider. I am from Indy and already knew of the StarBoys long before they put out any video, at least to the masses. Trust me the Midwest is repleat with strories in the papers, hell Indiana has a task force to go after street racers. When I had my shop, I had an open house the night of the ProStar Drag weekend. Almost 400 bikes in the parking lot until 3 in the AM. At first the idea that I would have this open house on that weekend had the COPs pissed, then they applauded later, the number of thickets written that weekend for speeding and the like was less than half of what had been in years prior. This was years before FatF... (shrug) Lets have a get together and see it...then we will know...and just maybe have some fun.

For all of us that are not into drag racing there is another movie in the works (if they ever get funding) 14K promise to be a MUCH better movie.

I could have written a better story line or pulled it off through production at least but...hey I haven't go the big bucks...at least not anymore. I am interested in this 14K can anyone tell me more about it other than the self proclaming on the website?

Man,

I'm never EVER telling anyone I race bikes after this dogshit hits the theatres...

They're gonna think I'm Bling Blingin' it down dirt roads and shit.

How embarassing.

Seriosuly though, did anyone think this would do anything for their careers? Or was it simply a chance to be in a movie (which would be cool)?

what happened to vin diesels career after fast and furious? yah he had been in other blockbuster movies but not as anything really noticeable.
