cpr performed on motorcyclist just outside of motogp exit

:rose to Keith Kaiser. Worked with him for several years. Just spoke to him on Thursday before the weekend; who would've though it'd be the last. Very sad and tragic. Most sincere condolences to his family

:rose RIP rider. This incident just shows how lives can change in a matter of seconds and how dangerous our hobby is. Ride safe everyone.

Some of the posters are totally classless, disrespecting dead people they know nothing about. IMO they are no different than these people

:( you're right, poor choice of words trying to get everyone to mellow out.

+1... i read the first part of this thread when it first started. came back to see if anyone had any more helpful info on what happened / etc but found that more than 1/2 of this thread so far was just bickering. i'd hate to assume threads are long because ppl are fighting but it seems pretty common...

Rider dies on Reservation Rd after USGP.

I was about 8 motorcycles back from the initial collision. Seeing a man vaulted 6 feet in the air at 35-40mph, upside down and having his motorcycle land directly on top of him was one of the most surreal and terrifying moments i have ever witnessed. It's an unfortunate reality that as riders, our lives are dependant on the abilities and decisions of those around us, especially at massive events like the USGP. With so many vehicles in such a limited space, it often becomes difficult to process everything at speed (even if that speed is appropriate for the situation). All i can say is that when things go wrong, they go wrong quickly. I'm definitely reconsidering riding the moto down for future events, and am certainly counting my blessings...

May the rider who passed rest in peace.:rip

Wow, I have seen you do some serious trolling in other threads, but this is really sick. One of these 'retards' is workmate's friend. Sadly, he has left a wife and three children. Unless you witnessed the accident first hand, your speculation is just as insulting as blaming it on the LEOs or anyone else.

You see those up arrow things?? Those point to the post above him. He was parapharsing what was posted above him. Before you get upset you should really try and learn the context of the comment.

Sorry to hear about the rider.

There is a huge difference between protecting and defending.

You might want to tell the people who write dictionaries that, as they use the word "defend" when defining the word "protect."
pro·tect   [pruh-tekt] Show IPA
–verb (used with object)
1.
to defend or guard from attack, invasion, loss, annoyance, insult, etc.; cover or shield from injury or danger.
2.
Economics . to guard (the industry or an industry of a nation) from foreign competition by imposing import duties.
3.
to provide funds for the payment of (a draft, note, etc.).

The riding overall was very sane and legal this year. Much better than past moto races.

And I appreciate the CHP allowing the bikes to ride the shoulder, especially on Hwy one. It would take weeks for people to get home if all the bikes clogged traffic, too. They could bust EVERYONE that rides the shoulder, pretty easily, but they don't. I am giving someone at CHP headquarters a big thumbs up for that one.
.

CHP were not letting EVERYONE ride the shoulder. I saw a woman on a cruiser get pulled over for riding the shoulder on the single lane part of HW1 just before the power plant. It would be nearly impossible to pull over EVERYONE. Whomever rode the shoulder and didn't get nailed just got lucky.

I agree that right turn only is a terrible idea. I have been to every race since 2005 and I have seen the exit handled with full control stopping traffic in both directions periodically to let bikes stream out in both directions (I preferred this) and right turn only which has been the case for the past two years at least. Every time it is right turn only, there are lots of U-Turns being made. I have even discussed how bad an idea forcing all bikes right and causing all the U-Turns was several times. I believe my exact words in the chatter box this year were, "I guess their requiring everyone to turn right again this year. So stupid. Watch for U-Turners. Where do you guys want to turn around? Turnout or that first street on the left?" My hotel is on Reservation Road and I made the U-Turn twice by pulling completely off the highway at the turnout mentioned, and once after turning left on on Davis. Now that I know that Davis to Blanco loops around, I will probably never make the U-Turn again. Although it seemed safe to me performed the way I did it (by pulling completely off the road), I would rather not pull out onto a Highway from a stop.

RIP

Well, screw it. I am wrong, again. I guess there is no give from the tan shirts.

Then you only have to worry about farm vehicles and farm junk on the road. :teeth

I am betting that next year, something different will be done. It is terrible that individual people can foresee these types of incidents, however a group of people can't do something about it to help prevent it.

SCRAMP is famous for total failure of traffic control. Like everything is "unknown" and a lesson learned for next year.

For cryin out loud, Disney land controls the massive flow of traffic in and out, so smooth it's a pleasure to be in that place.

Freakin idiots are always freakin idiots though, they can't even see that they are idiots and need to get help.

Things have been run pretty smoothly over the last several years. And Disney gets 365 days of practice a year and has been building up the traffic for decades, so you're talking apples and oranges.

Certainly this kind of thing was avoidable and I'm sure they'll be doing it different next year, but you'll never get things perfect under the kind of circumstances that they're facing with huge crowds, many testosterone-filled riders on powerful bikes, small access roads and only one day a year to really deal with it.

Pretty Smoothly? Ya gotta be Joking (or unaware of the problems SCRAMP's failures have created).

And defending them with Disney Land gets 365 days a year practice, is Nut's.

Moving traffic (and traffic control in place, all the way to the artery highways) isn't a new discovery every year.

Everything (including testostrone amped riders and alcohol consumed at spectator events) is a known. The roads are a known...it is all known.

Cutting costs, and pretending things in traffic management won't happen...that's something else.

Compared to their first couple years? It was very smooth. :x

I have re-read the posts several times and I still read it the same way. The first poster describes his cliff notes. Arch. then paraphrases but refers to the victims as retards. Why did he use the word 'retard'? He could have just said 'rider A' or something equally generic. Unless he is being sarcastic, how is this not derogatory? If I mis-intrepreted his comment, I apologize, but currently I don't see that.
