Critical ass today in SF

RABBLE, RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE!

I got to drop off this thread because it is a like a broken record.

But I'm riding today and I am going to have a great time.

Keep in mind that I can take a whole lane and there is nothing stopping hundreds of riders from being on the streets at the same time.

Don't like it when bikes are running red lights? Imagine the 1000 riders strung along 10 miles of roads.

Just stop crying everyone. Y'all just a bunch of whiners who ultimately love caging too much to be real cyclists.

You should fit nicely in the tube! :thumbup

What would be really funny is if a thousand motorcyclists with really loud pipes showed up right in the middle of CM revving their motors so much the CM douchebags couldn't even talk amongst themselves. What would make it better is if they were all Harleys so the public wouldn't look down on all motorcyclists as a result.

CM has absolutely nothing about furthering the rights of bicyclists and apologists for it like Sanjuro are a joke.

So much froth over a few minutes delay once a month.

Ah well, bike riders can continue on their way, secure in the knowledge that globalization, outsourcing, increased joblessness and declining US living standards will be steadily increasing the numbers of the auto-less in the years to come.

I don't ride with CM but the fact is that the tiny little bit of accomodation that state and local transportation departments make for bicycles is 100% due to those who are willing to push the issue.

The lard-assed suburbanite Opies of America still have 99+% of the roads, 99+% of the time.

over simplify, stereotype and generalize much?

Aren't you due back at the commune by now? :)

It's the tyranny of the Tribe.

That was funny and oddly logical...

...but still think CM is overblown and so 1991. :ride

you know if critical mass was composed of just hawt wimmins in tight spandex then everyone would love it and want it to happen every friday.

that said It won't impact my ride across the BB anyway.

Increasing our commute times due to slower transportation (bicycles) will decrease our productivity, lower our living standards and increase the pressure to outsource. :twofinger

My 3 mile commute takes 30% longer via motorcycle than bike, and costs about eight times more. :twofinger

Edit: Is it really hard for people to park and ride on the last friday of the month? It always feels like a huge hassle to get around the city in a car--especially the BB--compared to BART.

You do realize that most Americans do not have the stamina to ride 1 mile, let alone 3.

As for the thumbtacks across the route, thats not such a good idea since sometimes the BARF night ride (at least once) has had a run in with critical mass. :ride

That's what you get for driving.

BTW, say thanks for the other 30 days of the month bikers are not in their cars, making the traffic problem worse.

*Edited to remove profanity*

__________!
:rolleyes

You must be one of the many commuting from the Sacramento area to SF because they can't afford the cost of living in the bay. Good idea: punish them.

Actually yeah, that's exactly what I'm talking about. Critical mass is only a problem in downtown SF. BART park and ride costs $5/day tops--and can be as low as $1 or $2. That's cheaper than parking my moto downtown, and you don't have to pay the bridge toll. Why not just ride or drive to the BART station, avoid the killer traffic and fucked up SF streets, and take transit downtown that day?

Not being one of these commuters, I don't know if this is reasonable or not--hence my question.
