Critical ass today in SF

So much froth over a few minutes delay once a month.

Ah well, bike riders can continue on their way, secure in the knowledge that globalization, outsourcing, increased joblessness and declining US living standards will be steadily increasing the numbers of the auto-less in the years to come.

true ..... I've already resigned myself to life with a scooter....

I got to drop off this thread because it is a like a broken record.

But I'm riding today and I am going to have a great time.

Keep in mind that I can take a whole lane and there is nothing stopping hundreds of riders from being on the streets at the same time.

Don't like it when bikes are running red lights? Imagine the 1000 riders strung along 10 miles of roads.

Just stop crying everyone. Y'all just a bunch of whiners who ultimately love caging too much to be real cyclists.

ALL of douchebag mass, including YOU are inconsiderate assholes, whos daddy must not have paid enough attention to, hense the pathological need for attention, even negative to soothe yer immature ego. Either that, or due to the overwhelming feeling of inferiority and powerlessness you feel on a daily basis in the "adult world", and your terror at actually confronting another adult one on one, leads to this mob behavior.* Sort of like the anarchy fags that run around with black masks and throw rocks from 1/2 block away, then run.....soooo brave! Wonder if these trust fund warriors mommies know what junior is doing with his allowance money? I would love to gather a group of fellow Barfers in a little anti-critical douche ride, and trade some paint with the Schwinns...........:twofinger:twofinger:twofinger:twofinger

* (and the underwhelming size of yer penor)

Semper Fi! :thumbup

I wonder what would happen if I walked out into the crosswalk and got hit while CMers were blowing the light. I'm a big guy, I'm sure I could take a few bike hits :toothless

If you'll excuse me--I've only been here a few months, and don't know very well when people are trolling.

If you're serious: my personal feeling, having done group bicycle rides for a long time, is this: CM is exactly like group rides on motos. It's about making friends, checking out bikes, showing off, riding together, and doing something as a group. For me, the emotional experience of critical mass and the big BARF group rides are really the same. The BARF rides come with a little more "Oh shit oh shit they're really fast", perhaps. :)

Have you considered riding in CM? Perhaps that would corroborate my point of view--or maybe not, YMMV. I'd be happy to lend you my bike for the night, either way.

:thumbup I'm in.

Or you could just get a real job and contribute to society.

Peace, Russ

Oddly enough, when I ride a bicycle, I choose to do it as FAR AWAY FROM CARS AND PAVEMENT AS POSSIBLE! I don't ride to show off, or make new "friends" but to get away from the douchebags like you, not associate with 'em! :twofinger:twofinger:twofinger

The bicycle community would get more mileage out of riding within the law everyday as opposed to riding against it one day a month :rolleyes

I ride a bicycle too, and Critical Mass is just a bunch of inconsiderate fucks who hurt their cause every time they have one of these "events". Fuck 'em.

Actually yeah, that's exactly what I'm talking about. Critical mass is only a problem in downtown SF. BART park and ride costs $5/day tops--and can be as low as $1 or $2. That's cheaper than parking my moto downtown, and you don't have to pay the bridge toll. Why not just ride or drive to the BART station, avoid the killer traffic and fucked up SF streets, and take transit downtown that day?

Not being one of these commuters, I don't know if this is reasonable or not--hence my question.

Many hate public transit and would rather sit in their cars.

or if you are like me (even though I ride my moto pretty much anywhere when I'm solo) you want to be able to go anywhere any time. I don't have a set schedule on what I'm going to do every single day (like work a 9-5 job every day of the week) so I need major flexibility and I live in the city. I can only imagine how much it would suck to have to go back to ______ on bart to pick up your car and then go out again.

The 'Massers don't ride in my part of the 'hood. The homeless guys would toss their 40's at them.

Actually, while we're on the topic of bicyclists... I get on the BB just a little past 2nd St. on Folsom. It's a right-hand turn for the cars to get on the bridge. The bicycle lane goes straight through two lanes of pissed off, bumper to bumper cagers trying to make that right. Can't believe it. I saw a guy trying to navigate it on his bicycle yesterday. I was splitting lanes through this mess and it plants me right in the bike lane (unintentionally), so I was attempting to move over for him. When I saw that he had bigger problems than my being in his designated lane I gave up trying. That is sooooo dangerous.
