Danica Patrick got the pole!

I guess the "big one" will be on lap one this year. :laughing

opportunity meets photo op - and a little bit of nothing ends up significant. unless of course, pepperoni stands out as crazy awesome in a sea of ordinary cheese.

Just like women finding themselves attracted to successful men, Danica Patricks success has made her a bit more more appealing than some random girl at the mall.
She's just fine in my book.

She finished 10th in the Nationwide series last year. That's better than most of the guys on the grid :dunno

with all due respect - not a high bar. and with regard to out driving a skank -put a halfway decent driver behind the wheel of whatever machinery she's had access to - and now see what they and she has got. i double dog dare you.

But do you know even one single other female that will beat her? Take your pick from any female anywhere on the planet.

Fixed

Her looks are average.....The only reason guys think she's hot is because she's the only woman on the track....

:laughing - Hell no, I've seen Ms. Patrick in person....she's HAWT.

BTW, you sound like a woman.

The best thing about NASCAR is you can ignore the first 2.5 hrs of pit stops, crashes, refuels, and tire changes. And then then tune in for the final 30 minutes of the race which is a barn burner.

I just leave it here... :laughing

Nascar more resembles a destruction derby than a race, but it is a very tough and demanding sport, and yes, going that fast with four left turns at close to 200 mph six inches away from the guy in front of you takes a lot of skill and talent.

Yes, the drivers are skilled. No argument. So what?

Yes, there is significant engineering prowess involved despite the antiquated technology. So what?

Three hours of laps around an oval or tri-oval; yawn fest.

There's a reason a significant portion of their audience loves the crashing.

Just like Basketball, ignore the first 45 minutes, and watch the last 3 which takes another 45 minutes.

I can't wait for the Daytona 500, start the season off with the "Superbowl" of racing.

Danica doesn't have a chance though, look at the records, no Pole Winner has won the race for a long time. Too much competition, which is why I like Nascar. Every week there are 30 teams that have a real chance at winning, and the rest are sorta able to win if things go absolutely right for them. Unlike Football or Baseball that one team is competing against one team, racing you've got all teams competing against all teams. I love it :love
