In light of the following for diesel engines by my fellow gearheads found here, I've decided to start a thread where fans of teh diesel can feel free to post up without having to hijack anyone's thread. :D

I'll start...

This was me yesterday visiting another one of my local S-60's. :D

yes, 54K on my TDI and it's one of my most favorite cars evar (I don't think anything will ever top the 914 :p )....I would like a cummins pu next please !

We're ditching the Ford so my next company vehicle will be a Sterling with an ISB. :D

Honestly, I wish Toyota would sell Tacoma's with a diesel in the U.S. I'm so torn between getting a Golf TDI and a Tacoma when my lease on the GTI ends next year.

you can find the diesel compact trucks on criagslist everynow and then. Some guys import them over from where they ae very common

do they make two stoke diesel engines?

Long time fan of Rudolfs work. Initally designed to run on peanut oil or vegetable oil, they have proved to be the heavy equipment engine of choice. I cut my teeth on Detroit Diesel models 4-53, 6-71 and 6V-71, along with Caterpiller V-8s in the late seventies and eighties and then built 8V-71,8V-92T and Cummins VTB903 V-8`s later on. Last shop job ten years ago we played with the Series 60 and while they work fine, I just miss the good old days. The Cummins B series is a great motor and the A series is so dam cute I have wanted to put one in a bike frame forever. The Italians make some really cool little diesels for riding mowers and pumps too.

Still a fan of the EPA incorrect two stroke diesel. Very simple and just run forever. I have a bunch of manuals if anyone has any of the relices I mentioned above.

The 2-smoke's are absolutely bullet proof but are some of the dirtiest engines ever built. I happen to be a big fan of the S-60's as well as the ISM and ISX's.

One of the highlights of the two strokes were if you set the rack wrong they would go to wide open throttle with no shutdown. We had people throw raincoats over the air inlets, knock the fuel filters off and empty fire extinguisers in they to shut em down. Amazing sounds come from a runaway engine before they cabbage the block.

The journeymen would give the smartass know it all apprentices the V8`s for fun.

The first diesel truck we had was outfitted w/ a 6V-92TA- we'd have fun sending the new guys out to the shopto get new spark plugs.:nerd
