Hey Guys. Do any of you have any experience with shooting in the rain? I have some really cool ideas that I want to play with, but I want to make sure that I don't destroy my gear. I can put the strobes and pocket wizards in ziplock bags, but I'm wondering what I can do with my camera. Would it be too cheezy to set up an EZ UP and stand underneath it while my model is freezing her cassabas off in the rain?
what i used is a hydro defection add-on, aka plastic grocery bag. lol.
shooting in the rain sucks, did it many times. my recent on was the santacon in sf, dude it was pouring.

Did the baggie keep the camera dry or just 'dry enough?' I'm hoping for a terrential downpour. It kinda sucked. I wanted it to be dry last weekend for a shoot, but it rained, so I cancelled. This weekend, I want it to rain, but it looks like it will be dry on both Saturday and Sunday.
I want to kick Mr. Murphy in the balls right now. :|
it kept it dry enough, u might wanna tape it down. i didnt, so i had to wipe it down every so often. it works if done right, man i was hella soaked for the santacon totally forgot about an umbrella.

tape over anything that wouldn't be considered 'sealed,' like around lens where it mounts to camera, memory card slot area, etc
Working great. I had one for quite a while before, so no real surprises. The handling is solid and fast, low ISO image quality and colors are amazing, and high ISO is disappointing compared to the newer stuff. Haven't been shooting much the last month or so, very busy 10-12 hours a day x 6 days a week at the real job.![]()
Pictures...nothing worth sharing since the December shoot up in Niles Canyon. Got another one coming up Feb 6th, and a possible one in a week or so.
Also starting to line up weddings for the season. Got one solid and two tentative so far...![]()
only way to really get great iso performance is to go full frame. maybe a higher end cropped sensor body will give you 1 or 2 more stops, but not much.
