bunch of guys parked on harleys

guys on harleys surrounded by tail

guys on normal bikes surrounded by guys

Harleys have never done anything for me. Neither have the hardly riders I've met :dunno

Now, the clean cut guy who rides his Panigale to school... I might leave my panties on his handlebars someday :p

My pristine, new, 1975 BMW R100RS got me the woman of my dreams and now, forty years later, she's saying to me that I really should give it up. Motorcycling.

Was it just a manipulation on her part? Did she just pretend to like my bike? I am devastated that she might have been disengenous, that she has been so for decades.

Let this serve as a warning to those of you who think a certain bike will get you a certain woman. Sometimes its a lie and it'll be too late later on to remediate.

And now its too far into the future for a do over. . . . .
 
I tell them I ride a "Harley sportbike" and they go wild. So, yes.

It's pretty funny. Cruiser riders tend to stand around for hours and hours, especially in conspicuously alcohol-using settings (bars, wine tasting towns like Murphys, etc) while sport bikers are in motion. The answer seems pretty obvious. You have to actually be stopped to have this conversation.

It seems to me that sport bikers pose at least as much as HD riders. I don't get the us vs. them viewpoint here, as we are all motorcyclists. Sure, one group tends to hang out at bars and the other tends to hang out at coffee shops or parking lots, but both groups spend ample time posing. There are also many members of both groups who spend A LOT more time riding than posing.

Also, if I were looking to ride on the back of a bike, I would definitely lean towards a bagger or touring moto. Who wants to sit on that little coaster-sized sportbike seat, anyway? Ouch.

Fucking amazes me. I sometimes have to force my mind open at Alice's or whatever when random people wanna chat about bullshit because it's hard to ignore the fact that some of the same people probably posted in this thread.

And then everyone is amazed they can't ride worth shit. :|

Agree on second paragraph.

As to first, I got no dog in this hunt. I ride a standard motorcycle and have yet to have a cyute chica even look in my direction. But I have noticed on weekend getaways and such, whether its Murphys, San Juan Bautista, anywhere, people stand around their hardleys with their little black vests and white t-shirts for what seems like hours and hours. I sometimes will see sportbikes there, but with no owner standing around waiting to get complimented for his chrome or whatevah. When I see sport group riders, they tend to head for the cafe, eat their food then ride on. It seems like maybe, when i consider Alice's, for example, that there are certain routes much more likely for the sportbikers, but I see cruisers much more distributed around....

Just one person's observation.

PS. Hardleys offer many more conversation points to the uninformed observer. Fancy paint decorations, accessories, etc. Really nice sprotbiles are hard to compliment, other than beautiful lines. Much more small talk with the former.

Peeps. Just ride what'cha have. If you've got game then you can pull even with a scooter. And if you don't, you'll get friend zoned even with a blinged out $40k custom Harley.
 
I'm pretty sure that there are plenty of forums where you can endlessly discuss; "how to get women"

Here on barf, we prefer to discuss; "how can we make this forum more female friendly"

You see the difference ?
