Thanks for this. Although from my POV, pillion riders have ovaries of steel. I know maybe 5 people on the whole planet I'd trust enough ride with on a freeway.

I also don't see why a man riding pillion is some sort of ding on his masculinity. Do you not all ride shotgun? Maybe it's my adventure riding roots...we all know riding 50 miles up into some remote fire roads runs the chance of breaking something unfixable and resulting in 2 things: a VERY long walk back, or getting on the back of someone else's bike.

Not sure from whence your 'statistics' came, but I agree 100% that this forum has made significant strides in the area of gender equality / misogyny awareness in the past few years. There have been a few folks spearheading the movement, but a great many of us have honest re-examined the way in which we interact with one another in many respects. I would suggest that BARF is one of the better online forums in this regard; particularly if you consider the fact that the motorcycle world is somewhat male-dominated and tends to attract more chest thumping types than, say, an online kitten pictures forum might.

I hate to say we're used to it here but... we're used to it. There's a lot of dudes that post here that I wouldn't ever ride with or associate with and the same is just as true of ADVRider. It's funny because I ride with a bunch of old dudes every Sunday and they seem more enlightened than some of the youngsters that hang out here posting stupid shit.
