Do You Mountain Bike?

Hey Joe, what's the status on the shoulder?

Anyone else thinking of doing Downieville on Memorial Day weekend?

I'm going with a buddy off the rideSFO board. going up early sat, 2 runs saturday, maybe ride sunday, depending on family things.

ALSO! Anyone want to get a team together for the sierra-tahoe 100?

My previous team has had everyone but one guy drop out, so, were looking for another person, or i would rather start a new team of 3, as i really don't know this guy to well.

Preliminary of the race as of now, total details haven't been released yet. 3 team members, each do a 50 mile loop. for the 100 mile course, elevation gain is right about 11K. So, 50 mile loops would put you around 5500 feet.

Anyone want in? Just throwing it out there.

Stolen Mtn Bike

Keep an eye out for my friends Big Hit that was stolen from his garage sometime yesterday.

oh noes! I'll keep an eye out.
I thought 3 guys doing 50 miles each amounted to 150 :wtf

I already asked him the same question:laughing

Course is 100 miles, split up between however many people are on the team.

Dunno what the rules are about em, but I've seen em out there. With all the work that goes into maintaining the trails, I'd figure most mountain bikers aren't too keen on them.

Sweet, no need for shuttles!:p

pfffft.....just ride it solo.....it's only 11K.....ya got gears.....jeesh....;)

Sweet Deals On XC and AM Bikes

Sports Basement in Walnut Creek seems to have some really great deals on 5 and 6 inch bikes. I think most of them were demos at Sea Otter and SB bought them all up and are selling them really cheap. Most of them look brand new. If you're interested just go in and chat with Ian or Gino in the bike department. Don't know if you'll get a better deal if you mention my name or not but it probably couldn't hurt.

PS. Don't even ask me what the bikes are. When I look at that many really nice toys all at once my brain overloads and purges the system :wtf :twofinger and I don't remember anything. (yea, old age sux. . . but come to think of it, the same thing used to happen with boobs) :boobies

We should try and get JP out to Annadel sometime - I think that week-long bike camping sufferfest his old housemate took him on totally turned him off of it. Hope to see ya out there!

Give me time... :) I'll be out Friday huffing and puffing after sitting at a desk and not working out for 8 months.

The descents will be worth all the huffing and puffing if you make it out to Annadel :)

anyone else have trouble getting around this obstacle at the last race?:p

least it didn't chase after me:rofl:wtf

Lisa works Saturday morning, and Sunday is the AMA national at Infineon, so Annadel isn't an option for us this weekend. We're planning on a Tamarancho ride Saturday afternoon though - 2:00 PM @ Java Hut parking lot in Fairfax.

For those going to the national @ Infineon, Lisa and I are taking our mountain bikes and planning on riding @ China Camp on the way back..

I don't know why it's bruising at the foot... Dr appt with Dr Kahan (ting's office recommended since they arent HMO) in LG next Wed to see what's the deal. It's reasonably painful on a daily basis, but I don't think it's broken.

I rolled it playing indoor soccer, playing the ball on the boards where the carpet laps up a little at the edge. Or at least it's a little loose. Go figure.

Enjoy!

Nice kankles :laughing

China Camp was good on Saturday. We started around 1:30. By then most of the hikers were gone. That has to be the fastest trail around here. I'd join you, but I plan on riding to the races.

Yipes! Forecast says a HIGH of 102 in Oakland today, ~3pm....

Who rode their bike to work?:toothless
