Do You Mountain Bike?

Annadel is a blast!:ride

Lotsa climbing (nothing too steep), with awesome [long, fast, flowy] descents.

Haven't been there since our group ride last December.

I'd like to do "more than just the normal loop" this time - should be fun ;)

We ridin' the back side? ...Sweet!!:party

It's three miles east of the freeway in San Rafael, on San Pedro Road. The stuff on the front side is great for beginners with some "off the map" stuff elsewhere that has great singletrack and techy descents. But we're good trail users and would never ride in those kinds of places ;)

In one of the earlier All Out Productions vids, I saw Forrest and Beavers doing some gnarly looking singletrack in Marin. It looked like some kind of crack in the ground they were following, with lots of plant growth on either side. It didn't look like anything I've ridden before - you know the clip I'm talking about?

I've got the vid - the one with Ian on the cover and the good Chapparal footage, right? The only All Out Produx vid I don't have is East Bay Grease. Good stuff :)

Someone was telling me about some trails in Fairfax that rank right up there with Braille @ Demo. I want to a scouting run before putting something some kind of ride together - should be fun!

Thats the one. With some cindy footage also i think, had to go back and watch the marin part a few times to get me juiced up.

Only prob with that trail is the 5-0. its an early morning/night/rainy day trail. or else you'll get popped.

Anyone know if getting a ticket on a MTB will affect ones ability to become a police officer...?

I remember that muddy Cindy footage. The Chap footage gets me amped enough to try things I shouldn't try.

One of my buddies is Mill Valley PD, and just got his first mountain bike (08 Stumpjumper). I'll shoot him a message and find out.

In the txt msg I just got, he said it shouldn't make a difference. He goes by Antarius here on BARF - you could also post the question in the LEO forum if you wanted to.

So, what kind of jerseys is everyone wearing. Something super light weight, short sleeve. Realized walking outside today that my token white-t's aren't going to cut it anymore. I would ask on mtbr, but i got banned.

you fookin' got banned!!!!...fer what!!!???

to answer your original question......short sleeve and light weight is good....cotton is bad.....meh!

edit:....put a mess of ice in your camelbak too....helps mucho with the heat....and if you start getting the shivers and goosebumps - scale your exertion back...waaaay back.....before your organs cook and you blackout...blacking out sucks while riding.....ugh

and you know this how...? haha.

got banned bc i was tired of the IDIOTS in the DH section asking the SAME question 4 times a week, the kids whose parents bought them $5k bikes asking how to make it lighter, and the general pink bike sense. All i had to do was PM francios, and ask him to bad my account. Now i don't feel the need to flame these...people.... I feel liberated. Your job is to let me know info about the D-ville gathering, along with future 10K days, so i don't miss out:thumbup

blacked out twice during my first 24 solo....kinda funny....not heat related though.....that was in my second 24 solo....threw up in my mouth a couple of times....and got the *shivers*...it was 109 degrees on top of some hill climbs....ugh...

HA!...you basically banned yourself so you wouldn't type loud at spoiled kids...AWESOME!!!!!

yup.....i'll keep ya in the loop on 10K+ days and the D-Ville gathering......*real* training starts in June......gonna hurt....and hurt a lot......

So who has the best goggles, I wanna have the lightest extreme vision possible? :laughing

After today's heat I would welcome a half frozen DV

Pretty much.

It gets to me that these kids are spoiled with bikes they have no business riding, AND they cannot search or read. Where as me, i have to work my ass off to afford everything i have. Maybe I'm a bit bitter, but i would rather have it that way. I appreciate what i have more.

When i was learning about biking, I read. Read as much as i could. I wanted to know everything about bikes, suspensions, designs, shocks (maybe thats the engineer in me:rolleyes). The last thing i wanted to do was post up completely dumb questions, that could easily be remedied with a 2 minute search, and 8th grade reading skills. Most likely, i would run into people that
read my retarded post, and they would judge me because of that. Though people say they don't judge, i know everyone does a bit.

Being only 20 makes this even more difficult, as you have to contend with the "young punk downhiller" stereotype. Doesn't help that i began riding bikes as a downhiller either. :rolleyes

Anyway, the reason i started riding bikes was to RIDE, not to mess with message boards full of people from around the world that i do not know. Boards like this and rideSFO are rad, allowing you to have a central meeting place for a group of friends.

So i see myself much better off now. I will spend no time wasted reading useless posts, and more time getting ready to kick some A$@ at downieville. (maybe there is a bit of punk downhiller in me after all:wtf), Though i will miss the norcal forum, and the cool ass people ive meet in the last year from there, i think ill manage just riding my bike like i use to do.

I would ride, but I too have an important part missing! (No, not my brain. That's always been missing)

Ian ? ? ?

Ian Richardson. Haven't talked to him in a good 6 months. Do you know him mike? know what he's up to?

He's still over at Mike's Bikes in Berkeley. We bumped into him, Steve Peat, Forrest, and some other Santa Cruz Syndicate riders up at JMP the week before Sea Otter when they were doing a photoshoot.
