Do You Mountain Bike?

If you guys see a guy in shorts, camel back and yamaha hat say hi. I'm usually out at rockville running/hiking 4-5 days a week.:thumbup

I need to try riding a mountain bike. It looks like alot of fun. Just can't afford another hobby right now.

OZ - You HAVE to try mountain biking... GOD it's fun. :teeth

Oz, I can post in the other thread and see if someone's got a large frame bike you can borrow. You're welcome to try mine, but it's just a medium and will probably feel small for you. You're around 6'0 tall, right?

Guys/gals - this is a complete bummer for me... but I just got hit with flu-like symptoms and I feel like shit. :( I took 1000mg of Vitamin C and have been drinking tons of water - and just popped a couple of Tylenols, but I feel achy and weak. :mad

I'm gonna play this one by ear - in case someone planned to meet up, I'll just call it now - cancelled.

Sorry, I HATE getting sick and would rather ride...

Man, that really is far... I'm coming from Union City; 86 miles, 1h 41min according to Google Maps. I'll confirm one way or the other Sunday night.

U gonna be at Infineon all weekend? I gonna try to make it up there Sunday.

I'd roll with you Monday and split gas if you want to go. you've got my number, lemme know.

anyone want to ride today...didnt get my fork in time for d ville, so ill be riding local

In an attempt to beat the rain, I did a loop of Tamarancho this morning to try and gauge my progress.

It didn't go as smoothly as I hoped, with a spill at a decent pace on the first rocky descent that bent my seat and bars around, and stops for about 10 different people on the final descent out (I knew two of them). I tried to beat the start of the whole Fairfax Fat Tire Festivities that were scheduled this weekend, but didn't quite make it.

Still, with a 0:55:17 I was pretty happy with my time. I easily lost 1:30 to 2:00 with the crash and all the stops, and my previous best was 0:58:00. I paid for it with a nice sized gash on my shin which swelled up with my ankle quite a bit, but I should be good for Annadel on Monday. I'm kinda stoked about the possibility of getting into the 53s - I may try using the Cannondale for that though. While the Specialized pedals and climbs better, its lack of ground clearance forced me to time and ratchet my pedal strokes, causing me to lose valuable uphill momentum. On the same parts of the same trails, I can just keep on cranking with the Cannondale.

If I didn't have to work @ the AFM races on Sunday, I'd do the XC race at Tamarancho. Maybe some of you would be interested in it?

i need some help with my bike, i havent ridden for a couple months because i was injured and i just filled my tires and hopped on and the tubes wont hold any air, is there some cheap way to fix it with filler, or should i just buy new tubes and tires, or if anyone is nice and could spare some old ones?

:D i was thinkin that but also the sidewalls look pretty worn out on my tires :\

Hopefully your's hold up pretty well. I put a nice ding in mine already...

Whats up with this A-dell trip tomorrow? I'm downski to go. Sense getting my bike back, its time to start training. Climbing, timed DH's, the works.

Doug, are you still thinking about this? I'll roll with you and split the gas.

If not, does anyone have room and ill go half's with the petrol.

Yo Scott, Looks like I'm in. Got another rider coming too, so we can split the gas even more. Planning to leave my place around 8AM. You can meet us there or we can pick you up on the way. I'll give you a call later tonight.
