Some people enjoy driving. They buy cars that fit their needs, have a pleasing ride, or an engaging driving experience. Many other people only drive because it is the way to get to and from work, lunch, school, etc. They do not care what they drive other than the most practical benefits their vehicle provides like gas mileage, reliability, and resale value. We shall call this type of driver a dingleberry. The dingleberry does not care about their car other than the basic transportation it provides, and generally does not invest any energy into good driving technique, or higher levels of driving education. The Prius offers inexpensive, practical driving with the added social badge of "hybrid." This attracts the dingleberry who otherwise has no interest in any added features or benefits that a sporty car, truck, or suv may provide. Thus giving the dingleberry a social high-horse to ride, and an easy out in the "what do you drive" conversation often encountered in the real world. The dingleberry can not fathom riding a motorcycle, and is generally not inclined ponder the perspective of a motorcyclist or sports car driver. The dingleberry has been known to be interested in politics, talk radio, cultures of impoverished nations, world music, and special yogurts. The dingleberry does not enjoy excitement, adrenaline, violence, or pizza.
