Your 'take a shvt' comment is common and often, its ok though: every forum deems to have a cynical twat or two. A nice cynical outlook makes for a lonely life. By the way carbon body work will save you about 7lbs from OEM... but with all the cynical drivvle, negativity, and crap you got pent up in you, you would have to shvt more then once, to make the difference in weight. I think you got it handled though fellow moto brother- you sound full of it

FWIW: The pro level bikes remove every damn bit of weight they can. WITH GOOD REASON. They also are riding their bikes in condition the average street bike would only HOPE to see. You ever see a 2" deep pot hole on a track? Nope, me either. And I sure as shit wouldn't be trusting no ultra light anything on any bike to hold up to that abuse.

Did I say Titanium, or track days was a waste? Did I say I was nickle and diming MY way through owning a moto? Man please, you don't know me OR my life. So don't be throwing out BS comments to make you look better or justify why you spent $xx on a bad idea.

I called out, the literal fact of how insanely idiotic a carbon fiber kickstand is. Not for looks. Like I said, I understand bling. I'm not at qualms with that. I am pointing out, people are placing a SHITLOAD of mass on a quirky ass piece of carbon fiber and trusting in good faith it will hold. A piece mind you, that has been called into question, by the folks that have purchased it.

And for the track folks, Yeah I know right? Worried about the weight of it, just remove it and use a track stand. I agree. But apparently Donnie doesn't agree with us. Nor see the idea of a stressed member being removed and replaced with an inferior unit. All in the name of 4 ounces (or roughly there about) of weight savings.

That's what I was getting at. Got a problem with a product..? Take it to the seller and work with them first. Don't go posting on the interwebs and start bashing a business... How would "you" feel if someone did that to "your" business..? Get real..! Be a man and go talk to the shop manager, owner, customer service rep, etc..! Kids these days I tell you..! :facepalm

I guess when guys in BSB, or WSBK hit run off 1"-2" stutter boards together it wrecks there super light magnesium wheels or other light kit it fails?

If buying a $200 kickstand is dumb, it can't possibly be as dumb as dropping 15+ GRAND on an Italian (or german, or japanese) superbike, only to ride it on the street right?

I hope nobody bashing the CF kickstand is riding a 1198!!

You're talking 2 different worlds of things my friend. I personally won't justify the expense of a Ducati, Aprillia, etc for myself. But that don't mean I don't admire the shit out of them. :thumbup


Donnie: In relation to saying "us", if you open your eyeballs and stop focusing your rage directly at ME. You will see a couple others have called the "$200 kickstand" a bad fucking idea. But hey, whatever floats your boat man.

Obviously you haven't been reading this thread, because MOST people here - including myself - can't understand spending that kind of money on a carbon fiber kickstand. Not just because the weight loss is negligible for a part that low on the bike, but also because the strength and durability of that part would be highly questionable.

And if you're trying to save weight for the track, you take the entire kickstand off and use a track stand. You don't replace a part with another part that's made out of an exotic material if you're better off removing the part entirely.

Got bad news for you Donnie. Bikes get stolen everywhere. And 50+% of the jackals that steal them. Don't have a fucking clue about any of the add-on bits or their worth. The just go by model names. Ninja, GSXR, etc.. You get the drift.
