And with customers like this one, it certainly doesn't help their image:
Really dude? You're gonna go there over a 1/4 lbs +- weight difference, and it being "one off". A paint job would run you the same price, and be one off.
The weight difference? Seriously, I could take a shit and drop more then 4 ounces, if you want a weight difference that will matter on the track. Perhaps I could leave the $1.75 of change out of my pocket. Maybe I could remove the Power Commander that weights 1/2 pound.. Shit I dunno. Maybe I should just carbon fiber everything. Then when I DO wreck my bike, I can get totally fucked by my insurance company too.![]()
Now as I said, the "bling" factor. Is cool. But again I stand by my point. A carbon Fiber Kickstand? Seriously....![]()
Yep... it's my bike. I'm not here judging your bike or Icon vest and Mohawk you might wear. Good on you. Next
I think you got it handled though fellow moto brother- you sound full of it
Man some of you folks will justify this shit out of anything. Look man, if you are seriously stressing 4 ounces, on a bike. Then you seriously have your head stuffed up into your colon.WOW! ur kiddin rite?
that p.o.s kickstand looks like it was made by a 10yrold.
dos D.D stand for double dog$hit?
What kinda company sends out crap like that.

I liked the reply from DD... Some of you e-punks needed that..!![]()

+1
I'd rather do business with a straight shooter.
Not saying that was the best way to get more customers but it's good to know how someone thinks.

Some folks here can barely afford a can of chain lube, much less go out and buy some nice carbon bits for their bikes..!
Wow, glad to see you know me..Man some of you folks will justify this shit out of anything. Look man, if you are seriously stressing 4 ounces, on a bike. Then you seriously have your head stuffed up into your colon.
FWIW: The pro level bikes remove every damn bit of weight they can. WITH GOOD REASON. They also are riding their bikes in condition the average street bike would only HOPE to see. You ever see a 2" deep pot hole on a track? Nope, me either. And I sure as shit wouldn't be trusting no ultra light anything on any bike to hold up to that abuse.
Did I say Titanium, or track days was a waste? Did I say I was nickle and diming MY way through owning a moto? Man please, you don't know me OR my life. So don't be throwing out BS comments to make you look better or justify why you spent $xx on a bad idea.
I called out, the literal fact of how insanely idiotic a carbon fiber kickstand is. Not for looks. Like I said, I understand bling. I'm not at qualms with that. I am pointing out, people are placing a SHITLOAD of mass on a quirky ass piece of carbon fiber and trusting in good faith it will hold. A piece mind you, that has been called into question, by the folks that have purchased it.
And for the track folks, Yeah I know right? Worried about the weight of it, just remove it and use a track stand. I agree. But apparently Donnie doesn't agree with us. Nor see the idea of a stressed member being removed and replaced with an inferior unit. All in the name of 4 ounces (or roughly there about) of weight savings.
....... Im not trying to justify anything to you or anyone else you jack ass....
Dont know why you guys are bashing anything carbon. I have BST's and CMC's on my bike, and bunch of other make-lighter kit and I dont race my bike. Im just an average guy who loves his moto's & ride's it to and from work everyday as my transpo. I also don't go to bike nights or patronize Starbucks... and dont like people looking at my bike, because were I live bikes that get looked at get stolen. I also don't go pointing out my 'bling'. Black and carbon to me is the antithesis of bling. Some people like stretched out studded bikes, some of us like more purposeful exotic kit on our bikes. Some of us like riding 390lb wet R1's like myself, that feel more like 250cc into corners then a full liter bike. How we are passionate about what we ride and what we do to our bikes is our own deal. Do what you like, and Ill do the same.
To have a semi one off piece of kit that cuts over a quarter lb+ of weight is not hard to like. Plus have any of you seen what a stock steel R1 kicker looks likeSome of you guys spend the same money at a club in one night or a couple out with the boys.
Please refrain from any bad mouthing DD Moto, especially given no one here was a member of the GB. I was. This thread wasn't even needed to be posted IMHO as it serves no purpose: DD and we are getting things rectified. We're hopeful everything gets worked out.
Ride safe guys

Your 'take a shvt' comment is common and often, its ok though: every forum deems to have a cynical twat or two. A nice cynical outlook makes for a lonely life. "Maybe I should just carbon fiber everything. Then when I DO wreck my bike, I can get totally fucked by my insurance company too." Your stench of positivity is stomach turning. You maybe shouldnt ride a bike if not getting fvcked over by your insurance company is your issue. Nickel and dimeing your way through motorcycling life is good for you but some of us are ok with spending our hard earned money on what we like whether you like it or not. Can you believe some of us would buy titanium for our bikes, or maybe an Ohlins shock too. What about a track day or two... Blatant waste, how could we? The horror
I said 'semi' one off. By the way carbon body work will save you about 7lbs from OEM... but with all the cynical drivvle, negativity, and crap you got pent up in you, you would have to shvt more then once, to make the difference in weight. I think you got it handled though fellow moto brother- you sound full of it

If buying a $200 kickstand is dumb, it can't possibly be as dumb as dropping 15+ GRAND on an Italian (or german, or japanese) superbike, only to ride it on the street right?
I hope nobody bashing the CF kickstand is riding a 1198!!

I hate it when that happens!!!I spent $200 dollars on a stripper and I didn't come!![]()

I spent $200 dollars on a stripper and I didn't come to barf for approval..!![]()

you sure you're not trying to justify anything? sounds like you are.
p.s. pretty sure calling someone a jackass is a violation of TOS.
Yeah, he's totally trying to either compensate, or justify his actions. Either way, I don't give a rat's ass about what he wants to do. Nor what he's spent money on. But he's clearly pissed that I claim a $200 carbon fiber kickstand is a fucking stupid idea. Both money wise, and "weight savings". Again though, I have no qualms with adding some bling. For fuck sake, I've added a few chrome, and polished aluminum bits to my Busa OH NOES..

Why do you say 'US'... Youre the only one spouting off about a matter that has nothing to do with you, being a cynic and coming across above everyone. Youre holier then thou attitude is stupid, and worse arrogant.
And if you're trying to save weight for the track, you take the entire kickstand off and use a track stand. You don't replace a part with another part that's made out of an exotic material if you're better off removing the part entirely.
