If Walnut Creek is Bay Area, then Tracy should be too. And there's been a Dunkin over there for a little while already.

Their donuts suck anyways.

I'm going to stick to the local spot on A and Hesperian. No reason to drive all the way out to Walnut Creek for bad donuts and mediocre coffee. :twofinger

Lots of Walnut Creek peeps ride BART daily to work in San Francisco, it's the Bay Area for sure.

But the Bay Area Wiki says this:

A 2016 poll of 1,000 people, by the Bay Area Council, showed that 34 percent are considering leaving the area, due primarily to the high costs of living and housing, and traffic.

Puzzled why Dunkin' Donuts would try to invade the Bay Area as Krispy Kreme did poorly here and closed up shops. The Mom N' Pop donut shops are better.

I happened to be in Walnut Creek on the day Veggie Grill opened, the line to get in was down the sidewalk and around the block! People like healthy food, not donuts.

they had dunkin donuts in so cal about 15 years ago. I remember it was good but not krispy kreme good.

I will soon be in Rhode Island, land of a thousand donut shops (I think Dinkin Dognuts started there). Sadly, I really need to avoid donuts cuz I'm old and fat. big siiiiiiighhhhhhh.......

All the hipsters will go at least once, to demonstrate irony

After all, they're cheap donuts popular in the primitive flyover states

I tried a local Dunkin' Donuts for the first time last month. The donuts and selection were awful. They reminded me of grocery store bakery section donuts.

For me, I love dunkin donuts because it reminds me of home. No it's not the best doughnut or coffee but it is a part of my childhood and I love it! I will never stop going to locals like doughnut dolly or philz coffee, because I love them also and like to support local business owners. However, I will take a dd over Starbucks any day of the week!

Walnut creek has always been Bay Area, and Krispy Kreme is on fire right now. They shut down the pleasant hill one years ago but opened it back up and there is always a line. The Pinole one opened up and there were about 150 people there lined up at 5am the first day

Dunkin has a bigger menu outside of donuts and is more similar to Tim Hortons than Krispy creme.

Huh, didn't know. The Krispy Kreme in Pittsburg closed years ago, thought they were suffering.

I like Donut King in Pleasant Hill better, a true mom n' pop shop. :thumbup

Stan's Glazed Donuts in Santa Clara; nothing else has the right to call itself a donut.

DD's breffuss bagels hit the spot. Their dark roast coffee is drinkable, the doughnuts are doughnuts. Not Michellin star stuff, but not horrible.

Been in them back east, not sure what the hub-bub was about.... :dunno

I honestly think it's really overrated. Tried it once, and I prefer the local donut shop stuff.

Funny, that's exactly how I feel about Krispy Kreme. :laughing

To this day one of the best donut places I've been to in the east bay is Lee's over on Davis in San Leandro. Mom-and-pop shops trump corporate chains every time IMO. :thumbup
