Flat Track Racing Mega Thread - INCLUDES SPOILERS!

Sure does... pretty cool.

Nothing there you don't need for going fast sideways. :thumbup

Ordered my NBC track pass for AFT today. I did not like that it automatically renews at whatever rate it is next year (unless canceled). I have put a reminder on the calendar for next year.

Just 14 days until the AFT season starts.

Just 14 days until the AFT season starts.

I am ready. Bought the NBC Sports Gold AFT. Checked and when I open my Xfinity app it shows my email. 70" of flatscreen flat track. :teeth I hope the new system works.

Thanks for the heads up!

Quoting myself :rolleyes because Royal Enfield announced a limited race program with AFT for the 2020 season. They will compete in Production Twins starting at the Laconia short track in mid-June and will do two wild card TTs (Buffalo Chip and Peoria) in the SuperTwins class. Johnny Lewis will ride and develop the bike. Lewis will also use RE Himalayan-based flat trackers for flat track clinics at selected events this season. Royal Enfield recently announced a partnership with AFT and is supporting a builder challenge for four women to build and race RE flat track bikes at special exhibition races this season.

So Royal Enfield is showing this "design exercise" Flat Track bike. Not a street tracker. However, this design exercise is pretty serious. Harris built the frame, it has chassis adjustment (steering head, swingarm pivot) in the ranges of a real flat track race bike. S&S built the engine. There were photos a few months ago of the bike on track at Flat Track practice days in the UK. Thats not the usual approach for building a show bike.

RE debuted the bike at EICMA yesterday. They are just calling it a design exercise. Of course, there are rumors about Royal Enfield racing AFT in either Production Twins or SuperTwins but that seems like a stretch.

Anyway, its a great looking bike. More photos at BikeEXIF.com

The S&S website includes a big bore kit for the 650 RE's. 865cc, IIRC. I'm guessing they'll be using that as one of the ways to go from ~45 HP stock, to something closer to 90 HP for the track. I love the look of the bike! :ride

I understand the goal is for RE to partner with S&S for engines and Harris for frames to offer racers a turn key bike for Production Twins.

That makes complete sense, plus they own Harris. Between those suppliers, there is plenty of knowledge to build a good platform.

I got this email today. I have already bought the AFT package. If anyone wants to use the code give it a try. It May only work for the first person.

^^^ The right thing to do. The public good comes first. Better than canceling the race.

One more day until the season starts.
