CHEAP... 15 bux for 80 pair, whileas HEAROS is like 8 pair for 4-5 dollars.

When they lose effectiveness, i toss them out. They are less squishy than hearos. I say i get about 2 weeks of use or more out of them...

i q-tip my ears every morning tho - i dont like the feeling of water in my ear with the plugs in - or handling an icky wet plug.

I only use my plugs for a day or two.
If you want to lube your ear some baby oil would be preferable to water or spit. Only a little dab will do ya. That was key for the custom molded plugs I had. I have since lost them and am back to disposeables

Used to do that too until a friend got an ear infection. Doc said don't do that. Licking before insertion has a proper application but this ain't it.

Like someone else said, pull down and out on the ear lobe. Looks stupid but works.

ya, im sure if i ever get an infection itll be the cause. ive been doing this at least twice a day for 2 years now and nada. lick and insert def aint for everyone.

Somebody say ear plugs? http://earplugstore.stores.yahoo.net/foam-earplugs-large-quantities.html

They have sample packs, as well, to help you figure out which style you like.

I've found that damp earplugs are more difficult to put in; if they're fresh from the wrapper or dry, I can compress them easily between my fingers for easy insertion. Moist ones don't like to compress, or rather, they reexpand to easily after compression, so that they're already back to full size as I'm trying to put them in my ear. Never heard of this licking them before putting them in.

If you guys are having problems with ear plugs, you better skip riding the motorcycle. :twofinger

I usually aim for a week of use myself. I found that the trick is to roll the earplug between my index finger and thumb before insertion. When I insert the plugs, I tug back on my ear so that they slide right in. Generally go in with no problems; in fact, I have to be careful not to insert them too far with that method.

You're describing the manufacturer's instruction on the box/bag. That's the way you're always supposed to do it. :laughing

Ok, I got another theory, if you wash your ears with the morning shower,
then your ears will be less greasy in the morning.

Try wiping out your ears with a damp towel before the afternoon ride.

I have to do that with my glasses or they slip down my nose more easily
in the afternoon too which is really annoying on freeway commutes.

always store your ear plugs in your ass crack, they stay nice and moist and at a constant 98.6 degrees.

Maybe they are sliding out of your greasy ear in the afternoon, vs a clean ear in the early morning.
