Go Pro VS Contour HD

Admit I didn't read all the post but though one should note that GoPro is local............based out of 1/2 moon bay.

Heard that a GoPro unit was mounted to the rescue capsule on Chile. edit for sp.....

I didn't read the whole thread but I recently made this same decision. Drawbacks for me were the contour requires you buy a separate waterproof case for more money. May not affect everyones decision, but it did for me.

Then they almost won me back with the GPS version, but after looking into it, its more money and the GPS mapping info is in a proprietary format only viewable on their website:thumbdown

Anyway, I got a great deal thanks to an awesome barfer out there on a GoPro and I couldn't be happier. This thing is bulletproof and the videos look amazing.

Trying to decide but it seems to me that having the company located here has some advantages if things go bad. Also like to support local.

I actually ordered two cameras. One was for a friend and was DOA (happens sometimes with any electronics). I sent it to them, they got it on Tuesday, sent it out yesterday, and I got it in the mail today. Awesome customer service.

Oh and they didn't mess around with a refurbished unit either. Got a brand new one. Top notch.

I have one for my Triumph, but haven't really looked for the Kawasaki yet. you should be able to get one for under $30.
 
I've been wanting a GoProHD for quite a while now.. I read somewhere that someone picked one up for $220!? Just curious where I should go to buy one.. Ebay has them for around $250 shipped / and of course CG has them for $300 but bottom line is right now im borderline poor and would like to conserve my bonus. :)

Well, I just went ahead and ordered the motorsport package. I've always wanted one of these, though I really don't go on that many interesting rides. Would have been nice to have it when I almost ran in to that one dear last month though.
