Golden State Warriors 2017-2018

And the rest of the country sighs.... again.

(Let's be honest - they're sick of both of us at this point.)

It's like deja vu all over again...

Bring on the LeBrons once more!

good game! I'm amazed at how cold the rockets got. They didn't seem to be taking harder shots...just wasn't going down. In the end I'd like to think that even if the Rockets stayed hot the Warriors would have found an answer.

The Warriors are a great team and they have another chance to show their greatness. Let's see it! Go Ws! :party

Let’s look ahead to the matchup and some of the differences compared to last year:

Cavs starting lineup got worse, with Hill replacing Kyrie. Warriors starting lineup didn’t exactly improve, with Looney starting over Zaza.

Cavs bench improved with a bunch of young guys behind Korver and Green. Warriors bench got worse, with a bunch of old guys who can’t reliably score anymore.

Any word on Love and Iggy’s statuses?

At some point Kerr said that Iggy has a bone bruise.

If I remember, that same sort of injury cost CP3 like a month at the beginning of a season.

Even though "my" team won, I will say that was an oddly-officiated game at times. And why they chose Scott Foster? I'll never know.

Ah well. Onwards to Thursday.

Sigh, gg! Rockets' shooting abysmal.

Don't see the Cavs doing much, but LeBron can probably will them to a win, by himself.

Lebron has been playing out of his mind most of the playoffs. If he keeps doing that and at least one of the Cavs supporting role players show up, I think he can will the series to end up Dubs in 5.

I'm wondering what the wear and tear of bring his team back to the Championship game on his back will have on James ability to keep carrying his team.

He's not a 20 something anymore and performing at that kind of level does have it's cost in wear and tear that only full rest for a full month can alleviate.

We see that in the Track world, where the top sprinters have to be very strategic with their races, at their level they can't go top speed until the final race in a meet if they want to have their fastest time in the finals. Same with week to week performance, they can't run every weekend and expect to maintain top times, they accumulate too many micro-tears in their tissues and micro-fractures in their bones when putting maximum load in a sprint race. Similar for distance runners, the body needs time to recover and that isn't measured in days. I imagine that the same applies for basketball players who are that big pushing themselves to the limit. Granted, Lebran is a freak of nature, but there is a limit and especially as he's not a spring chicken anymore.

Agreed! If at least ONE of Love, JRS, Hill, Korver, Green goes off - per game -
then we might have a series.

Also we have no rebounding - if PJ Tucker can have a career rebounding game then what about TT...

that's why Lebron coasts through the regular season.

Interesting statistic. The series was the third largest total point margin of victory in a playoff series in NBA history.

I do wish that Iggy and Paul had played all games, so the inevitable whining would be avoided. If Iggy plays all games, it would have been over in 6 IMO.

Anybody notice the three guard rotation Kerr played at one point? Curry, Thompson, Livingston. You don't see that every day. I wonder if that was to help run down and tire out the Rockets.

This has worried me lately, especially offensive rebs for opponents. Especially the first half of the most recent game, when I was pulling my hair out.

Presumably Kevin Love will return and the Cavs will be a better rebounding team than the Warriors.

Late edit post script for Rockets fans...

Am I a simpleton for not understanding why JaVale wasn't played in the last couple games? He can rebound and is good for 6-8 points it seems for his relatively few minutes.
