Golden State Warriors 2017-2018

Given the Cavs propensity for not paying attention to the scoreboard or clock, maybe Love thought the game was over? :dunno

This isn't basketball.

:facepalm

Don't believe that was anywhere close to the 4th quarter nor overtime. Like football, there's call to be made on every play and sometimes the refs see and sometime they don't. Glad they were able to review that charge call because it was reversed correctly.

Tell JR and Hill to get their head in the game :laughing

I did feel bad for Javale during that stretch. He was doing good then missed a pass, stuffed himself at the rim, and looked lost for a but. Kerr immediately got the hook and got him out of there.

Kevin Love and Tristan Thompson could theoretically be suspended for Sundays game. Will the league do it? Not a chance. But they should be. Love was off the bench and on the floor during the scuffle and TJ's shove to Draymond's face is worthy. Draymond would've got suspended for half the season for that.

Overall, if 51 points by LBJ and the Warriors play B- basketball and still win, I'd say their in good shape. Hopefully Iggy is back sunday.

You need to review the rules. You cannot overturn that... and yet they did. And that was HUGE.

Was he in the restricted area? No.

They overturned a judgement call, and that just isn't done.

You don't know what the ref saw or didn't see, regarding judgment. It's reviewable in the last 2 minutes if they need to determine if the player was in the restricted area or not. He was out but the call of charge can be changed at that time. Which it was.

That tied the game. Cavs could still have won it. Thank JR and Hill.

Good explanation and slow mo of the charge call.

I mean, here's the exact quote from the ref after the game

"The reason for the trigger is that we had doubt as to whether or not James was in the restricted area. When over at the table, we then are allowed to determine whether or not he was in a legal guarding position. It was determined that he was out of the restricted area, but he was not in a legal guarding position prior to Durant's separate shooting motion. So we had to change it to a blocking foul."

And he wasn't anywhere near it, which is the absurd part. He's nowhere near the line, and they call for the review... and that's the only way the second part - checking the charge/block - gets reviewed.

That wasn't the only blown call in the 4Q. Looney blatantly hacked Lebron on the arm and there was no foul call, resulting in a turnover. Lebron strips Durant cleanly on that drive, and they call him instead for the foul.

The officiating in that game likely cost the Cavs the win. A whole lot of people also seem to feel that's the case right now.

I haven't been this disgusted about a game in a long time.

Yes, Smith screwed up.. Yes, it would have been great if Hill hit that free throw... But that stuff listed above, plus the reversing based upon BS restricted zone nonsense... it's just an awful, awful way for officiating to totally turn a game on its head in the last five minutes. Awful.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

that's now officially worse than any Ws homer, and all the dismissals of claiming poor officiating by Ws fans are nullified.

"sure, the guys could have won the game had they made a free throw or put up a shot...but it's the refs fault"

my ass

In the parlance of the Palouse region of Washington state, “J R Smith Couged that one.”

:p

Grasping at ANYTHING to justify the CHOKE!

The restricted area review has been in for 5 years we just hardly ever see any ref reviews on it. But I don't mind the review. Actually, I thought it was a blocking foul and I'm not just speaking from my fanboi pedestal.

Regardless of everything else that happened after (and before) that point... My point, and the point others have made.. Refs used a rule to reverse a call in a way that should not have been done. Lebron was nowhere near the restricted area. They don't screw that call up, and the Cavs end up up by 2, with the ball, and 36 seconds to play.

^ Exactly.

Here's the moment of the charge... Look at where the officials are. There's no question that they could see he was FAR outside the restricted area. And yet.. they used that rule to reverse the call. That's the sham of it all.

And Bubba, you rarely contribute anything to this thread outside of baiting for a ToS violation. You and Snickers are the only two people on my ignore list. Congratulations :)

I would suggest constant ball washing for LeBron in the WARRIORS thread would be considered trolling/baiting.

I am so flipping HAPPY today. Cavs fans are crapping all over themselves.

You're right. I read every post in this thread but do not have long winded responses, just my stupid quips. So what? At least I NEVER block anyone. Even the lame posters who come to this thread to cry.

Since JR is probably a little down today, I wanna dedicate this song... I hope it will lift his spirits:

:laughing

Now, on to Game 2.

I will expect the Cavs to come out with anger and fury, and frankly, the Dubs are gonna have to play much, MUCH better.

they reversed the call and GOT IT RIGHT. it was a fucking block. lol.

George Hill is probably thanking JR for taking the heat.
