Good-ass cover songs

i was neevr a wheezer fan so this album.... i am definitely not the target market. every time one of the songs comes up on pandora i skip it as fast as possible. if i wanted to hear pop music from the 80s or whatever it is, i'd listen to that. it's a karaoke album.

ok, now ya'll ridicule my likes

You are entitled to your opinion, I'm not judging.

Your horrifically, terribly WRONG AS FUCK opinion. :twofinger

I'ma crank up the warehouse stereo and check out every one of these songs and see what's what.

brb.

Some good stuff in this thread, some not so much my cup of tea. my contribution Yo La Tengo cover the Beach Boys " little honda"

English Beat cover of an Andy Williams classic....

Speaking of ska, the Specials first album was like 90% dance hall covers, didn't realize that until later in life

You stop your messing around! :laughing

But yes, there were a lot songs that came out of the Jamaican migration to England that never made it here, but were held in reverence by the ska bands 20 years later. :thumbup

yeah pretty much any imagine dragons song done by anyone else but this is ultimate

Disturbed always gets a ton of love for their Sounds of Silence cover, but I think their version of Land of Confusion takes the cake for me.

PMJ came to town a few weeks ago and we got to see the show. Fun night of music. Their cover of Bad Guy was outstanding but I was especially charmed by their medley of Super Mario themes. "this tap dancing was next level" is a weird phrase to say, but This Tap Dancing Is Next Level.

Major Tom is pretty pale in comparison to Space Oddity, but that didn't stop Shiny Toy Guns from making it into this masterpiece.

Oops. Forgot a couple faves.

This cover of I Want You Back is awesome. Rachael Price gots pipes!

The Gourds covering Snoop Dogg

Laibach did a cover of the album Let It Be and I like it better than the Beatles. :laughing

And speaking of Laibach...

Jane's Addiction did a respectable job covering Sympathy as well

I prefer the Michael Jackson cover of Come Together over the original.

Fight me

What a fun thread this turned out to be..!

Lots to listen too at work. :cool

The Alien Ant Farm was hugely fun.

Weird Al done good. :wow

Distrubed.. of course. ROCK!

Agree on FFDP - nice cover, but all their work does not hit my beltway.

Well now you have to.

Saw these guys open up a show last weekend in Cleveland. This is the song they kicked it off with. Took me until the chorus to even figure out what I was listening to.

I wasn't quite prepared to hear The Hu singing in english so that was a pleasant surprise. :)

Oh man! Can't believe we seem to have collectively neglected this one!
