Good-ass cover songs

Small town Titans.. Mr. Grinch.

How the hell you run across that Charles??

Dude can sing!

I see the cover of Radiohead's Creep, and the cover of Prince... and immediately think of...

Uhh, huh, huh... and of course I get a special feeling in my Woody Allen huh, huh...

For reals, I stumbled upon this the other day and very much approved

I derive a guilty pleasure from terrible Christmas songs!
Sometimes good ones slip through! Haha!

This is not a good one though! Muahahaha!

But really, I do find a lot of stuff on YouTube just because I often do click on cover versions of songs while watching/listening to bands I do know. In the case of Small Town Titans, it was like, "who the heck does a cover of grinch!?!" (And I don't think I was even looking at Christmas stuff at that moment) then, "holy crap!?! This is great!"

Great way to find new artists!

Samantha Fish is another one I found one day from this cover.

She's great! Been touring since her teens. Here's a couple more covers bundled into one video. (Youtube recently jacked this video up with a commercial right in the middle of the first song!)

Diving in on the 2Cello guys... great for work music. :thumbup

Brass attack or whatever was great.

Dig Frog Leap Studios shit... at least most of it.

And if you like Chicago.. this is the band.

Just saw Chicago two months ago.. these guys are better. :laughing

I prefer the Michael Jackson cover of Come Together over the original.

Fight me

Aerosmith, in their alcohol and drug addled haze, in the late 70's, for a super crappy movie based on Beatles songs, for the win!

Can't find a decent video from the movie, thankfully.

I am not a huge Beatles fan, but "Here Comes the Sun" has a special place in my heart, and I didn't realize it til later in life, and then it was when I heard it on ukulele... :dunno

This is probably the best version of Black Betty I have heard. The Lead Belly original from the '30's is just old ass music hard to relate to. This cover seems to be more of a riff on the Ram Jam cover that was so famous, but the Aussies of Spiderbait have captured everything that was great about that cover and scorched all the stench of the '70's off that version, keeping with the rule of good taste that music from the 1960's and 1970's should largely never be tolerated.

Maybe the cover that made the most money for the writer. $10M in royalties and climbing.

No, no, no.

You got the wrong Aerosmith cover!

Band defining, band saving, genre busting, crossover hit.

That's a Run-DMC cover of an Aerosmith song, I posted an Aerosmith cover of a Beatles song... two totally different fish. :x

:laughing

Metallica was a pretty important band to me growing up. They're pretty much a joke now, but they can still crush a cover song. I think Garage inc. is still a fantastic album.
