GS500 build thread... cf tanks, internal supercharger, etc

Hmmm, looks like he hasn't even logged onto the board since Feb. 10th. Maybe something else came up that has him sidetracked?

Something big must've come up. He prob put this on the back burner. Again, I hope everything is well OP!

That it did.

Ended up landing a job as a result of the bike down in So Cal doing prototype engineering for one of the big defense aerospace companies. It's been keeping me busy, and unfortunately, at least for the next few months, means the bike is in storage. I'll probably start making headway again come September/August when I have a garage again to pull the bike out of storage.

LOL this thread/bike got you a spiffy job? That's outstanding. Congrats :thumbup Powaz of ze internetz yo!

Details? How did this company find/approach you?

Find some thing you like to do and you will not work a day in your life, I hope you found it.

Still subscribed to this thread and looking forward to updates on the bike.

Interesting chain of events really. I was approached by someone on BARF about another aerospace position. That job didn't work out, but he did help out immensely by directing some major changes on my resume, including significantly more detail on the bike. I submitted my updated resume to the company I'm with now, who needed someone basically with the exact skill set demonstrated on the bike. It was a perfect "here, look what I can do" project. Was outright told by them that it was the bike that pushed me way above all the other applicants.

Nice, and iirc you're not even done with school yet? I'm jealous, maybe I need to build a bike and put it on my resume.... no, I don't have the aptitude for that. :laughing

Congrats!

Congrats!

I graduated in December. The bike was my senior project.

Now I have an unhealthy urge to do a ground up bike build. Make my own frame, etc. Must finish this thing first though

a modern redesign of zukis 500cc wankel or guzzies 500CC V8?

either woirks for me... just as long as its got forced induction :p

nonsense! you already have that machine shop....

you can buy whatever parts you want and make it happen!

You do realize this thread is borderline just that :thumbup

building my own engine is more than I want to do. Force induction on something interesting, however... a 400cc turbo that revs really really high, etc... could make for a very interesting sounding bike

Glad to have an update. Even more glad that it is good news that has kept you away.

I spend a lot of time on motorcycle forums discussing everything from riding to building and I must admit that this thread makes me happier than any other I have ever come across.
