Hipster Moped Rally

They actually called them hipsters on the news? I just thought that was a good way to describe them.

Scooters and mopeds, I have no problem with (other than they're louder than they are fast).

It's these hipsters man, DESPISE these guys. They're just as bad as the harley guys in the south park episode to me.
 
I have a feeling that the irony of them being "non-conformist", and thus as a result, conforming to the Hipster image, to be the most amusing aspect of their "sub-culture".

If ya ever feel helpless of alone when riding your moto in a sea of cars, try it on a moped. One of the reasons we ride in packs, that and it's much more fun to "blast" with 300 of your closest friends. Not to mention I have people around that can help me get my tight jeans off when I inevitably start to look circulation in my legs. :twofinger
 
is this the same group of crazy mofos that were in SF? I saw a MASS (as in critical) of these guys in the mission this friday. not bikes though, definitely mopeds. idiots were stopping traffic to make illegal right turns last i saw em. good thing they didn't get in my way...

"outlaws" making noise on these little fartcans are not hilarious at all, when all they do is make noise and don't even go fast across an intersection.

Last one I saw barely made it through the intersection , buzzing and pedaling on the yellow-red, while for sure they make a lot of noise every night riding around midnight.

Just as bad as critical mass... just glad it doesn't happen more often.

There's nothing wrong with riding a moped around if you're doing so in a polite fashion, with occasional acts that may be somewhat less than polite for safety... same thing with a bicycle. But a lot of the riders I run into are assholes just for the sake of being assholes.
