CalTrans is still moving dirt, (video) and is projecting a road opening in the spring.

IF rain doesn't destroy what has been done with conturing, drainage, work so far.

Damn! Miss my ride down 1 to Cambria for lunch then up Santa Rosa Creek rd to 46. Ride down to Paso then up Peachtree / 25 to Cienega rd.
Hop on San Juan grade to Salinas and enjoy a cold beer at home soothing my achy muscles.

Rock Creek slip made the news again last nite.

Cal Trans is going back to convoys in and out of Big Sur, trying to save businesses, and get tourists back in town, with restrictions.

In order to stay over nite, you need some form of receipt for lodging there in town. Otherwise it is a convoy back out. Something about 7 am and 5 pm for the convoys.

Please check for yourself about all this, it seems a bit pliable in execution.

Monterey to Big Sur will be Opened this Friday, for all to visit, no restrictions.
Single lane with traffic signal, will replace the convoys in and out.
I did see the Bixby Bridge in last nites video, they have equipment trailers parked on it. That graceful span has been absent from the Big Sur Look since the slide.
Not mentioned, but I imagine the convoys are still in place for the locals south of Big Sur, north of Lucia.
