John Dice New bikes for '26 memorial thread.

It should be fairly straightforward for one of our BARF fab/machining wizards to make a set of lowering brackets for the pegs.

Hell, I've been on barf forever And I've never thrown any money at it.

I hereby pledge to happily cover 50% of the cost of getting lowering brackets made as a donation to bud and barf for years of support and entertainment.

@auntiebling , I'm looking at paying you to do this, buddy 😁

So that should cost me about a six pack of some yucky IPA goat piss

Awe man... that is very kind of you. :thumbup

I think I will be able to get a leg over next weekend with a bit of security help on balance. That will say a lot. I had one of these coming before the stairs attacked me. MotorCafe promised to find me one when I am ready. Getting closer every week. I am thinking within 2 months I will be dropping coin. :banana

Doing some quick research, there are already a number of aftermarket rear set kits for that bike, but nothing specifically to lower it.
I have done something similar to this on several bikes.
They also make a tall seat for it, if I'm looking at the right bike, which will help with knee angle, but make the ground further away...

Sweet. Thanks!

A taller seat should be fine to do. I am or used to be 6-1" and the Multi is taller than this bike by a bit I think.

My birthday is April 25th. A Saturday.

Sounds like a great day to pick up a present for myself.
7 months post stair attack. I am pretty confident I will be ready.

Just watched that first ride video, kinda make me want one. Just needs longer suspension travel because I am weird. Also figured that position of the pegs would be not great for my long legs, but yeah aftermarket rearsets or possibly even just a set from the standard 990 would address that. If's they would just make an upspec version of the SMT they'd likely have me as a customer.

I'm glad they decided to use the stylema calipers and the adjustable master. Your gonna LOVE the brakes.
You may need to go to heavier spring rates for tracking, but the WP Apex Pro boingers are an EXCELLENT upgrade (tho expensive).
I'm excited for you.

Any thought to sitting on several of the competitors and seeing if those have any better foot peg position, Bud? All of these naked superbikes are about the same, really. Maybe make your comfort the deciding factor?

Not really. After seeing/ chasing Lonster and Planegray rip on the bike I fell in lust with those 890s. Then they put this one on the build list and I knew the RACE READY was going to be the deal.

A friend just got the speed triple. He lives here and I figure we will be having some fun on PageMill and SC Mountains later this year. He is a current AFM racer who I am helping a bit and when I chased him on his M-1, like the 890's it was kind of not fair, but he did not disappear either. A respectful young guy :laughing

Look at me closing in on 70 and still talking fast fun. :teeth

I'm a fan of anything we (or Honda) can do to make the barriers to our passion less intimidating.
Those of us who learned to ride in the 70's and 80's had no access to the common sense, safety and convenience that's applied now.

Scars prove it!

Or Turbo 'Busas

We live in glorious times!
True stuff, but....
I recall riding a Kawasaki 750 2-stroke triple with a flexi-frame and braking duties performed by rumor.
What's even worse is I rode that thing within my first year of riding.
The Universe seems to be rather unfair when it's handing out bummers. I certainly deserved more than I got.
