*Liam's Wild Ride*

Liam,
when your MotoGP adventure is all said and done just write a book. I'm sure Dean Adams will sell it on his site. I'll pre-pay for my copy ;)

Cheers,
Mark

Someone lookin' for a GT40?

Nooo! THIS is what I'm looking for. Actually, if we can lock something in I'm sure someone will be having the time of their life at Laguna Seca, or another race this year . . . .

When muh pops gets back from his cruise I'll see if he still has any contacts in that arena. He worked for Lincoln Mercury for 40+ years and of course they are owned by Ford. He'll be back in a week. No promises though.

Hey All,

Just put this up on another forum and I think it applies here as well.

I have to admit a strange sense of calm about the whole Rossi/Stoner battles. Everything is fluid, everything can change in one race.

I do see Stoner riding extremely well, and the package is coming good, but moreso I see the personality behind the tv and his confidence is not purely based on the bike or the team. He's ready to go, he's ready to fight.

And Rossi? What a champion! Previous riders who have beaten the Doctor in the four stroke era are far and few between, Barros, Gibernau, Biaggi, Tamada, Elias, Hayden, Pedrosa, and lately, Stoner. I'm sure I've missed some, but you get the idea. Less than half the grid has put one up on him, and no matter what, even if Rossi doesn't make the podium at the finish, the bottom line in MotoGP is that when you go racing you are not trying to beat anyone except the Doctor.

That Ducati have faced three separate technical inspections is both fantastic and sickening. I am so proud of Corse for getting it right, and sadly, I am disappointed by the J Giants, for demanding the inspections because they're trying every last little thing to get over on Ducati. When Honda was dominating GP's in '02,'03, and '04, did you ever hear of another factory filing a complaint for an inspection? When Rossi was riding the Yamaha to victory after victory, did Honda ask for a trackside tear-down? It is, in my mind, poor sportmanship. I only hope Corse keeps it up with the development, as the '08 models should be ready for tracktime by mid-June. We'll see, because as it stands now, we have Rossi riding with the fight of his career ahead of him, and THAT makes for quality racing.

On a side note, you'll notice that Eden and I have advanced beyond Bay Area Shockerisms, and are now flossing the international variants.

Oh man. I'm a little behind on the MotoGP series, and just finished watching the last 2 races, and to see you on TV was fuckin awesome! Congrats to you and the tream on the 4th place in Turkey. What a race.

Thanks Grafx! I'm off to dinner with Hiro now, be back later tonight.

Great write-up at MotoLiam.com, my friend!

I especially like the bit about "firming up some relationships..." ;)

Did you ever pass the stone?

Nope, mostly them seem to hang around in my Bladder, the real pain coming from the transition from Kidney to Bladder. Actually, the first big one I had, which entailed a few trips to the ER, with catscans and a blood test finally determining what was wrong, I saved! I was given a couple strainers to use whenever I pee'd, and I left one at work and one at home. After about a week, I heard an unusual "Clink" while peeing at work, and it was a jagged meteorite that I kept because I was going to have my collection of 'stones set into a ring. It was one of those hair-brained ideas that went something like <flashing fist with ring> "Oh yeah? You think you're tough - check this out!", hahaha.

Yer so hardcore!!!

:p

My dad passed one on thanksgiving morning. The ER doctor said hes had 7 or 8. The first one he had was during medical school, and the pain was so much, that he snapped off the desk. Great reading about your adventure liam. you should really think about publishing this stuff

a. STOP PUTTING THE FINGER IN YOUR MOUTH!! Liam started doing the "self-shocker" in China, and with the hygiene that goes on here I'd bet he gave himself syphilis.

b. passing stones... that's probably from putting your finger in your mouth in China.

(seriously though - OUCH! I've not experienced one yet, but geez... guess it's the male equivalent of giving birth?

Hahahahahaha! I have this feeling that we are going to be seeing a pic of that ring in the future (that would kick ass)...
Sorry to hear about the stones, though. Not good times. :(
Hopefully they pass soon.

Always fun reading your posts. Keep up the good work, and am looking forward to seeing the Pramac team on the podium.

Time to get ready for LeMans, and I'm leaving early tomorrow morning. I fly to Paris, then take a train to LeMans, where we'll see if Michelin has something special for their home track. Funnily enough, there is a HUGE Dunlop sign on the mainstraight. And speaking of Dunlop, one of the guys I worked with last year decided it would be a nice idea to start a blog of his own, but this time through his Team. You can read the Dunlop Blog Here.

It will be fun to see how things pan out, as we are only 22% into the season. The real meat of the year starts now, with 7 races in 10 weeks! That means the mechanics who also drive the semi-trucks and hospitality units will be out of their homes for 2.5 months! Whoa! It is probably going to be my busiest time ever, also, so keep your fingers crossed that everything holds together on this wild ride.

Rawk on, man! Remember, you LOVE French food. Just picture Sacha Baron Cohen lovingly whispering in your ear, "you LOVE ze crepe!" and all will be well.

Hey, forgot to mention that if anyone is coming out to one of the next couple races and can bring a good sized package with them, it would be much appreciated. I'm trying to avoid some customs and shipping headaches, and with my own travel schedule, it might just be easier to meet at a race. Thanks everyone!
