You're the only person who has confirmed the Strike is a real bike that moves under its own power.

On this other reputable website some dude maintains the Strike is not real because there are no YouTube vids. I found that amusing. No videos! None!
And the moon landing was faked.

He's got a point.

I do find it suspicious that there are no videos or reviews. Maybe Lightning doesn't care about selling bikes?

Anyone can make a wheel spin on a trackstand.

I don't remember but I don't see how that's bad it gets the name out there and makes it easier to purchase. But yeah it's a little odd to sell a high performance electric motorcycle at an electronics store. =P

What is the reason for no press rides, no videos, no official specs?

I might guess there is rush to go to market before they feel 100% ready. It is hard to undo initial missteps.

I dunno. I’m just an engineer.

Well The brammo they were selling at BestBuy was the Enertia. Which wasn't a high end bike but more of a slight upgrade to a scooter except you miss out on storage space.

It was smart in the sense that it really gave them a wide "dealer network" almost instantly but it didn't do the brand any favors to be taken seriously by motorcyclists which i thing was their endgame target audience.

I want lightning to succeed but the promise of performance, amazing parts, and all sourced from China has me concerned about quality. Time will tell if the bikes live up to the claims.

What promise?

There are still no specs on their website and deliveries were supposed to start last month.

Weird they used to have specs listed on their site but looks like they removed them.

The specs didn't exactly make sense as far as what i know. There was like a magic 15lbs battery pack that added 50 miles of range. I don't remember the exact numbers but it wasn't feasible given the available technology.

According to the video below he gives the following info. I have no idea how he has these stats/specs or how accurate his information is:

  • 3.3kW AC Charger
    90hp and 180 ft/lbs
    455lbs weight
    10kWh

Strike ML $16,998

  • 3.3kW AC Charger
    90HP 180 FT/LBs Tq
    465LBS Weight

They took the webpage down but on the Brammoforum I posted this a while back:

Lightning Strike porn! Straight from their webby site! Would definitely like to take one for a spin. I've never gotten to ride the LS-218. I wonder how they are going to sell it? The Tesla way? Hard to tell is that a belt drive?

I have seen the bike in person and it has some quality made Chinese parts. As long as they are QC it I don't see any problem. I am really interested in the range specs because this is like the only electric production bike that has proper fairings, it should make a difference. Oh yeah I mentioned the belt drive and I saw it in person and I called it belt drive!
