Midlife crisis style...new car time

Rob, any insight on the Elise engine failures? Is it just that Toyota makes a good powertrain, but it's designed for a Corolla and if you flog it hard enough it pops?

*sigh*

Okay, not that NSX :mad :laughing

Or any.

It looks neat. But it was a supercar back in the early 90's.

Today? That brand new V6 Mustang I suggested, not only is faster than the NSX, but handles probably as well with the track package.

When a "supercar" can be embarrassed by today's Hertz rental car...supercar it is no more.

You've pretty much got it. I think it's engine was sourced from the now gone Toyota MRS, but it's probably pretty similar.

Lotus typically is driven much more aggressively and is close to redline much more than what that engine typically does in what Toyota used them for.

My midlife crisis car was a 350z convertible...
My crisis is over bought a Ducati....
350Z is for sale, a real beauty.
PM if interested.

How do you kn... never mind don't answer that.

Rode in one. They're not exactly Rolls Royce rare. They're affordable enough for many 20-somethings to own them.

You could also read what pretty much everyone says about them. I didn't say anything controversial. A lightweight tin can isn't going to ride well or be very quiet.

turbodogs already said he doesn't want an impractical car the "mid-life crisis" car is a misnomer. that's not what he's looking for.

he listed his criteria in post 62 and 63.
fun, sporty, practical, low maintenance, good mileage, safe. under $25k.

Thanks Mike.

There's been a lot of input on this thread....more than I thought I would get...lol....

only $255 over budget, brand new. RWD, 200 HP .. oh yeah :thumbup

i like you ^^^unlike what others said it's not an over priced toyota. it's pretty much designed by subaru. toyota came up with the concept and some aspects and subaru executed it. its like the rich friend who pays you to build their dream bike, they try to take all the credit but the people who know, know exactly who built it.

Lolololololol. $26.5k for a bunch of ugly modsys and a highly questionable past?

You don't get a branded title for a "scrape" so he's dumb as fuck to think anyone believes that.

Every salvaged car is always sold with the same bullshit tag of "a few scrapes that needed to be repaired. My loss is your gain LOL!!!"

People fall for this shit?

I might wander around to the BMW dealer this afternoon and take a peek at a used 650i Convertible that they have.

Even though I think the 6-Series looks like someone hooked it up to an air hose and over filled it.
