MikeV's ZB50 Thread

Mikey,

Advice.... If you can avoid CHP & DMV at any costs do so..... Any cop can do the VIN inspection, In Fact I Know of a certain Mini guy that forges his own badge #'s & runs them through the DMV...Not sugesting this, but they don't really pay that much attention to it... CHP & DMV on the other hand won't do anything until you have turnsignals, tail light Lic. plate lit, odometer etc... But if you have the paper work filled out in hand at the desk, no worries...

If you have any friends that are law enforcement this is always best for inspection purposes.... I used Airport Police for my inspection & I have 250F fourstroke on my title now... Still don't have turn signals, I BS'd my way out of it...Airport Police don't know to much about vehicle codes...lol...

It's all good -- I have several LEO friends who are doing their part to help me out. It's actually less of a problem with CHP and more of a problem with DMV wanting 8 thousand hoops jumped through.

I should have all the paperwork straightened out this weekend if all goes well.

I'm starting to think Mike doesn't want to ride with us...

No doubt and it is a shame. I have no minis to ride with in the East Bay.

I've been full of fail trying to get together with my friendly LEO so I can get my paperwork to DMV.

Hopefully soon.

So.. I have my paperwork, and I just need to drop it off at DMV for the bike to be all sorted out and I can wait for the title to show up in the mail.

And... the mini guys are gonna kill me :laughing

I'm selling the ZB.

I made the mistake of being dragged to Thunderhill last weekend. I'm completely hooked now, and the ZB is going to be sold off to put money towards a dedicated trackbike.

I'm going to focus on the hardtail, get it back together and toss a couple nice pieces on it, and just RIDE. I'm tired of having shit half-built in my garage.

Anybody interested in a ZB with a whole heap of NSR stuff ready to swap on?

BOO!!!

The track is fun but it's a money pit. Most of that money you won't see again. The few grand you're throwing into a track bike, you'll use it about 10 times a year and watch it sit the rest of the time. Just keep the ZB as a blinged out pit bike and track the Tuono ;)

Oh also, mini bike track days are only $20

Like you would see any money back from building up an mini, though :laughing

NOOOOOOOOOO!!! I've felt like I've been with you since the beginning trying to get this mini plated. Don't sell it man. You're gonna regret it.

Mike,
Realistically speaking, a busy guy like you who is a responsible father and into home improvement, how much time can you REALLY dedicate to the track? Where as a mini, just jump on for a quick spin around town or over to Castro Valley lets say?

Just trying to "help" :thumbup

:laughing

The home improvement is finally just about done!

you have short attention span like i do huh mike.

get it plated at least.

Yeah, dropping off the paperwork tomorrow. I already have the plate, I just need them to send me the title in the mail.

Mike, you gotta cruise it at least once before you dump it!

Got the paperwork dropped off at DMV, registration reprinted, and I should have a title in my hand in a week or two.

Officially put the ZB up for sale on PlanetMinis :|
